    13 Assassins review

    13 Assassins review

It’s a dark, brutal time in Japan because of the evildoing of a psychotic, murderous lord, and half brother to the Shogun. He threatens the peace and safety of the Japanese people with his sadistic ways. It’s decided that the few samurai still left in Japan must come together for a suicide mission to take him down. First these samurai have to be convinced, by explaining what evil this lord has committed against his people. Then the preparation and execution comes next. 13 Assassins, directed by Takashi Miike, is the bloody, unrelenting telling of this story and it absolutely doesn’t hold back. This stars Kōji Yakusho, Takayuki Yamada and Sōsuke Takaoka. This is the third collaboration in which Yamada and Takaoka starred. 13 Assassins also features Hiroki Matsukata, Kazuki Namioka and Gorō Inagaki

After that we journey back to a galaxy far far away for the latest instalment of Star Wars: Andor

Episode 19 | That Time I Got Falsely Accused: A Look at the Amber Heard Trial, Rising of the Shield Hero & My Own False Accusations

Episode 19 | That Time I Got Falsely Accused: A Look at the Amber Heard Trial, Rising of the Shield Hero & My Own False Accusations
The recently concluded trial of Amber Heard v Johnny Depp, hit close to my heart as I am a man who has been in a former victim of IPV (Intimate Partner Violence), and someone who was falsely accused intention. I felt it was important tie tie trial to the story of Naofumi Iwatani, the MC of Rising of the Shield Hero, as he was also intentionally falsely accused by the main antagonist of the series Malty S Melromarc. Hyushi-sama, Jordan, and myself recount or experiences of either being taken advantage of or abuse, and tie these experiences to those of Johnny Depp, and Naofumi. As we feel there needs to be greater awareness to men who have either been falsely mistreated during the heights of the #MeToo movement, and men who have been victims of abuse in heteronormative relationships. This was my most important episode thus far, as I delve into many of my experiences with women, including family members, over the course of my life. In addition, my own observations about men and society, and how we see women in society. I Hope you all enjoy this episode. With regards to the use of the term "whorehouse" in place of "brothel" (or some other less offensive term) - the author decided to use this term only after much deliberation, and only as they felt it in keeping with both the parlance of the historical setting of their story, and the character of its protagonist, who, let's face it, is not a very nice guy.
