    "I Wouldn't Call it Allegorizing" | Bible Backgrounds S1E12
On the final episode of this season of Bible Backgrounds, Dr. Craig Keener goes deep into the context of multiple New Testament passages that "quote" the Old Testament. Dr. Keener brings alive the OT allusions that appear in Matthew, Galatians and elsewhere, providing needed context and background to those works.

"I'm Not Trying to Avoid It" | S1E10
Host Dr. Kurt Jaros begins today's discussion by asking for Dr. Craig Keener's take on the controversial Christian debate: Calvinism or Arminianism? In analyzing that question, Dr. Keener turns his gaze to the extremes (hyper-Calvinism and hyper-Arminianism) first, and then begins to look at the semantics of terms like "election" and "God's sovereignty". Specific Biblical passages, such as Romans 9, 11, and Ephesians 1 are all reviewed as Dr. Keener and Dr. Jaros grapple with the apostle Paul's context for writing about election and predestination (which takes Dr. Keener into brief discussions about dispensationalism and covenant theology).

The Rhetoric of "Be Ready" | S1E08

The Rhetoric of "Be Ready" | S1E08
Dr. Keener explains his rationale for when he believes the Gospels were written. That explanation has much to do with the destruction in 70 AD, and so the conversation naturally flows into a conversation about the significance of the destruction and the role it plays in our eschatology. When will Jesus return? Dr. Keener assures us the answer is "soon"... but soon can be a very subjective term!

    2 Assholes Talking Music #102

We switched gears tonight and decided that instead of music we'd talk a little Hollywood. We had the pleasure to spend some time with an old friend and actress, Kelsey Collins Keener!! She gave us an inside look on what it takes to make it in L.A., her time on Arrested Development, her upcoming movie "Paradise Cove", and I can't really remember what else because we might have drank too much. Thank again to Kelsey for putting up with our shit for a few hours. The 2 Assholes wish her nothing but success and good health in the future. Cheers!!

Aflevering 52: Film Fans Luistervragen - Sicario: Day of the Soldado review

Hieperdepiep! Hoera! We vieren in aflevering 52 onze eerste verjaardag.

We mogen een pret-pakket weggeven voor Ant-Man and the Wasp. Wil je weten wat je er voor moet doen? Luister dan deze aflevering.

    Episode 58 - Get Out (55:54)

    Episode 58 - Get Out (55:54)
Robert and I start to implement a few optimizations to the format of the show as we discuss Jordan Peele's "Get Out" which is an excellent movie that uses perceptions related to race to mask the narrative of the story. We both really enjoyed this one and appreciate you bearing with us as we implement updates to the show.

Show notes are more at: http://www.actualanarchy.com/58

    Presented by www.ActualAnarchy.com

Robert and I analyze popular movies from a Rothbardian/AnarchoCapitalist perspective.

We use movies as a starting point for people who may not be familiar with this way of thinking.   Discussion of the plot and decisions that characters make in relation to morality and violations of the non-aggression principle are our bread and butter.

We also will highlight and discuss any themes or lessons from Austrian Economics that we can glean from the film.

The point is to show what anarchy actually is with instances that are presented in film.

We publish at least once per week; and occasionally will do specials surrounding holidays or events (elections/olympics) and have guests.

    Get Out

In 2017, comedian Jordan Peele worked with indie producer Jason Blum to release his suspense horror film Get Out about a young African American man who taken to meet his white girlfriend's parents at their upper-class suburb, where things turn eerie quickly. Garnering critical acclaim early in the year and becoming a frontrunner for end-of-year awards, the film has near-unanimous praise from critics and audiences alike. But does the film deserve the applause or is there something more sinister at work? MovieDude Eric, Kent and Chris find out.

About the book:  A Gripping, True-Life Love Story!

Shy, scholarly Craig Keener first met Médine, a beautiful Ph.D. student from central Africa, through a campus ministry at Duke University. The two became close friends, but it wasn't until Médine returned home that Craig--coming to terms with his own wounded heart--realized his love for her. But civil war had broken out in Congo. Médine faced terror, disease and devastating hardship--and Craig didn't know if she was alive or dead.

Separated by continents, cultures and the ravages of war, Craig and Médine never stopped believing that faith, hope and love can surmount even the most overwhelming obstacles. Part romance, part thrilling adventure, their story is an unforgettable, miracle-filled journey of impossible love. You will be amazed by the God whose own great love for each of us will always overcome.

About Craig Keener:  Craig is professor of New Testament at Asbury Theological Seminary and holds a doctoral degree in New Testament Studies and the Origins of Christianity from Duke University. He is the author of several commentaries on books of the New Testament.

About Médine Moussounga Keener:  Médine holds a PhD from the University of Paris and is the pastoral care coordinator of Formation Ministries at Asbury. Médine and her husband, Craig, work for ethnic reconciliation in the US and Africa.
