    # 066 Intera: The Quest for Peace - Spirituality Beyond Religion

    # 066 Intera: The Quest for Peace - Spirituality Beyond Religion

    Religions create conflict all around the world. However, was religion really created so that it polarizes people? Doesn't all religions teach us how to love each other and seek a peaceful world? Did it also say, as long as it's between religious members? I don't really think so. If it did, was it the original intention, or was it because the teaching became a doctrine to organize people?

    In this week's episode, I invited Jerry Zehr, the author of The Peacemaker's Path: Multifaith Reflections to Deepen Your Spirituality. We talk about how we have to look at similarities, not differences between religions to reduce conflict in this world. The old teachings of each religion do not ask us to hate each other but to look for the divine within ourselves, that can love oneself and others to create peace and harmony among us. Our tribalistic nature and power hunger have created walls between us, and we must break through them by understanding that we are all the same.

    Here's what we discuss;
    - Walking the Enlightened Path
    - Why religious conflicts exist and how to overcome them
    - Repair by loving oneself
    - Kharma is universal
    - Human connection creates happiness

    Jerry is an ordained minister and has been a leader in Interfaith ministries for over 30 years. His desire is to help bring shalom to our world today. His book The Peacemaker's Path explores six core teachings in the Major World Religions that can bring unity and healing to our polarized society.
