Episode 336: 2023 Toyota Prius Prime, Cadillac ELR Fan Service, 2023 Kia Carnival, 2023 Chrysler Pacifica PHEV, Listener Feedback
Are unpopular and sorta strange cars really actually good? That's the question this week's episode is pursuing as our hosts drive some weird and wonderful cars that have had a bad reputation in the past. First up Benjamin drives the 2023 Toyota Prius Prime, aka "the sexy Prius." With 44 miles of all electric range, the Prius Prime is no longer the geeky favourite of Leonardo DiCaprio, but a surprisingly good looking, functional car that isn't too bad to drive, or so Benjamin says. Listen the whole segment to get his final say, not to mention a fun tangent about other phevs that disappeared over the years. Then Sami brings up the 2024 Kia Carnival, which played dad van duties when his extended family dropped in. With tons of tech, space and cool powered second row seats, the Carnival should be a hit with families, but Sami says the Korean minivan has a fatal flaw which may make it fall out of favor with those looking for a three row superstar. On the other hand, Benjamin's recent moving experience with the 2023 Chrysler Pacifica PHEV suggests that you don't need a family to thoroughly test a van, especially one as efficient as this particular hybrid. Thanks for listening! See you all next week!

    Wheels, tires, and business tools

    Wheels, tires, and business tools

It’s not often you’d relate car parts to business tools, but I’m going to try. You see, building a car takes time and a lot of patients, so it’s relatable.

    Episode 332: 2023 BMW Z4 M40i, 2023 Kia Seltos, Big Sami News

    Episode 332: 2023 BMW Z4 M40i, 2023 Kia Seltos, Big Sami News
The sun's out and it's hot, so of course it's a perfect time to hear the latest episode of the Unnamed Automotive Podcast, especially since we've got one of the few sub-$100k roadsters left on the market to discuss. To save you the trouble of guessing, we'll just say it's the drop top Toyota Supra, aka the 2023 BMW X4, which has been lightly refreshed ("kinda" according to Benjamin.) The Z4 has apparently gotten quicker thanks to the fusion of some some German and Japanese witchcraft, and Benjamin has more than a few things to share about his experience in one of the few luxury droptops available. Then Sami chimes in to talk about the refreshed 2024 Kia Seltos X-Line, which gets a rugged new design, and an upscale looking interior. But Sami isn't convinced that this is the best Is can do, so be sure to hear what is making him tick about this Korean subcompact. Finally the guys discussion subscription features, Corvettes and hot hatch resale values before closing out the show. Thanks for listening!

W.H.O launches Global Health Digital Certs, Tik Tok hits Montana, NYC blames car companies for crime

W.H.O launches Global Health Digital Certs, Tik Tok hits Montana, NYC blames car companies for crime

W.H.O launches a Global Digital Health Certification Network  Tik Tok punches back at Montana    NYC blames car companies for Crime problem   Headline update 6.7.23.

On Today’s Headline Update Show for Ranting Politics, we cover the following headlines:   World Health Organization launches a Global Digital Health Certification Network,

Tik Tok punches back at Montana. & NYC the latest Metro to Blame Car companies for their crime problems.

    Key Points:

    • The World Health Organization's (WHO) recent initiative, the Global Digital Health Certification Network (GDHCN). It's the latest attempt to digitize, centralize, and — let's face it — potentially exploit our most personal data: our health records.
    • let's delve into the unfolding saga between TikTok, the social media giant, and the state of Montana. The crux of the matter lies in Montana's recent decision to ban the app, a move that TikTok has responded to with a lawsuit. This legal tussle is emblematic of the broader tensions between technology, privacy, and national security that are defining our digital age.
    • Today's third Headline Update is a narrative that highlights a stark failure, not of corporate negligence, as some might have you believe, albeit a product marketing failure, but of government policing responsibility and regulatory oversight in ensuring the safety and security of its citizens. It brings us to the heart of a controversy surrounding two multinational automotive corporations, Hyundai Motor and Kia, in New York City.

Episode 317: 2023 Ford F-150 Lightning EV Pickup, 2023 Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV, 2023 Kia Sportage PHEV
What's in a plug? First up Benjamin describes his time with the 2023 Ford F-150 Lightning EV, a fully electric pickup truck with a number of handy features than he had to test out. Can the Lightning power up a stranded EV? Sami begs Benjamin to tell us if the future of electric trucks bleak or promising. Then Sami talks about a pair of plug-in hybrid crossovers. The 2023 Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV has been a face in this segment for a long long long time, and has been renewed with Nissan bones. The 2023 Kia Sportage PHEV is a bit less familiar, but has a few interesting changes compared to the similar Hyundai Tucson PHEV. Weight, seating, and other charging gimmicks help differentiate these two, but Sami comes down with an interesting verdict when it comes to summing these rides up. A Car Theft Social Media Challenge

A Car Theft Social Media Challenge

From time to time I will inform you of the latest social media challenge going viral among teens. Some of these can be fun. But many of these challenges are dangerous or even deadly. One of the latest social media challenges police departments across the country are encountering is one that encourages young TikTok viewers to steal two particular brands of cars – Kia and Hyundai – and then take off with them for a reckless joyride that is then documented through video and posted on social media. The instructional videos offer detailed instructions on how to break into, hotwire, and start particular models. Police data shows that thanks to this social media challenge, Kias and Hyundais make up fifty-eight percent of vehicle thefts in Milwaukee, and forty-nine percent of vehicle thefts in grand rapids. Parents, this reminds us to teach God’s moral standards to our kids. In addition, it reminds us to not only monitor and limit social media use, but to monitor where are kids are at all times.
