According to a separate survey conducted by the National Center for Health Statistics, 40% of Americans reported symptoms of anxiety and depression in 2020 compared to just 11% in 2019. The uncertainty and fear surrounding the pandemic undoubtedly played an enormous role in this increase.

However, it isn’t just symptoms of anxiety and depression that have skyrocketed. In this year’s survey, more than 12 million adults reported serious thoughts of suicide. People have understandably struggled when removed from the stability of friends and family and subjected to new and unusual stressors and we’re seeing that in the data.

Untreated Substance Use Disorders. In the absence of care, many people turned to substances like alcohol and drugs as a coping mechanism if they could not or would not access treatment. In this year’s survey, almost 11% of adults reported abusing alcohol, while 6.82% reported abusing illicit drugs. Of this combined number, less than 7% are seeking treatment for their substance use disorder.

There are many factors that have contributed to the rise in untreated substance use disorders. These include:

    • Interruptions in harm reduction programs
    • Isolation
    • Worsening economic conditions
    • Growing mental health concerns

Unfortunately, the rise in untreated substance use disorders has also contributed to an increase in overdose risk factors, with more than 93,300 overdose deathsoccurring in the United States in 2020.

Difficulties in Accessing Care. One of the most concerning findings from this year’s survey was that while more people are reporting mental health concerns, only 28% were able to find the care they needed. Some of the most common barriers to finding and getting mental health care services include the following:

    • No affordable options, reported by 42% of respondents
    • Lack of awareness about where to go for services, according to 27% of respondents
    • No time to get treatment, cited by 19% of respondents

Nationally, that leaves more than 14 million individuals who recognize that they need help, but cannot find the right behavioral healthcare provider or agency.

While access to care is challenging across the entirety of the United States, it is much more difficult in Indiana, Nevada, and Arizona, which reported that between 36% and 39% of their population cannot access care.

    • Worldwide: Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the number of anxiety and depressive disorders grew. Depressive symptoms grew from a base of about 193 million people worldwide to 246 million, which is about 28%. Anxiety disorders grew from about 298 million people affected to 374 million, which is about a 25% increase.
    • Age group: Young adults ages 18 to 25 in the U.S have the highest rate of experiencing mental health conditions (30.6%), followed by those ages 26 to 49 (25.3%) and adults ages 50 and over (14.5%)

Happiness in family life is most likely to be achieved when founded upon the teachings of.Successful marriages and families are established and maintained on principles of faith, prayer, repentance, forgiveness, respect, love, compassion, work, and wholesome recreational activities. By divine design, fathers are to preside over their families in love and righteousness and are responsible to provide the necessities of life and protection for their families. Mothers are primarily responsible for the nurture of their children. In these sacred responsibilities, fathers and mothers are obligated to help one another as equal partners. Disability, death, or other circumstances may necessitate individual adaptation. Extended families should lend support when needed:- End quote The family is the heart and soul of any country. “The most powerful thing to me right now that’s been helping me keep pushing me like I’ve been doing is hope,” said Tanner, 38.

Tanner was accused of leading the Renegades, a local gang that trafficked thousands of pounds of crack cocaine and marijuana, and was convicted in 2006 of conspiracy to distribute. When he was arrested, Tanner was an undefeated light heavyweight boxer from Gary who had been in a televised fight on ESPN.

It’s been almost 27 years since Tupac Shakur was murdered in a drive-by shooting in Las Vegas on September 7, 1996, but the mystery surrounding his death has remained a hot topic among his fans. There’s finally been some movement in the case as Las Vegas Police recently served a search warrant “looking for laptops and other electronic devices at the home of” Duane Keith Davis, a.k.a. “Keefe D.” Davis was allegedly in the car that perpetrated the drive-by. During the initial investigation by Las Vegas and Los Angeles Police, he claimed he was involved in the shooting, “but later gave police details about the case under a limited non-prosecution agreement.” His nephew Orlando Anderson, who is suspected of pulling the trigger, was killed in 1998.

There are a lot of questions about why the case has suddenly hit headlines again, but one close friend of Tupac’s thinks it’s not necessarily about finding the answers. Allen Hughes, who directed FX’s Emmy nominated docuseries Dear Mama, told ABC News, “In the community, as we know, and in the streets, there was never a mystery to who killed Tupac. It was always about Las Vegas law enforcement closing the case on this. What happened that night at the MGM Grand Casino and that violent incident that Tupac and gang had with that individual—again, that guy, everyone knows, came back and shot Tupac.” The investigation also revealed footage of the Poetic Justice actor just before he was shot. In what could be his last public moments, Pac is seen talking with friends.

After attending a Mike Tyson fight, the legendary rapper, Suge Knight and other members of their entourage were seen on camera assaulting a rival in the lobby of the MGM Grand. Later that evening, at 11:15 p.m. PT, while waiting at a stoplight, Tupac was hit four times by gunshots from a white Cadillac. His death sent shockwaves through the music world and the Black community. Widely considered the voice of a generation, his loss is still deeply felt by fans and fellow artists.

PICKENS, S.C. (AP) — Former President Donald Trump marked a return to the large-scale rallies of his previous presidential campaigns, speaking to a massive crowd gathered in the streets of a small South Carolina city on a blazing summer weekend.

“There’s nowhere else I’d rather be to kick off the Fourth of July weekend than right here on Main Street, with thousands of hardworking South Carolina patriots who believe in God, family and country,” Trump said Saturday to a roaring crowd in downtown Pickens as temperatures climbed into the 90s.

Randal J. Beach, the police chief in the conservative Upstate community of about 3,400 residents, told The Associated Press on Sunday that his estimates of the crowd “were somewhere between 50-55,000.”

The heavily Republican area is a popular one for GOP hopefuls as they aim to attract support for South Carolina’s first-in-the-South presidential primary. In recent months, other candidates including Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, former Vice President Mike Pence and biotech entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy have all held events in the Upstate, as well as the two South Carolinians in the race: former Gov. Nikki Haley and Sen. Tim Scott.

Episode 29: KINGS OF TALK/ RENEGADE TALK RADIO-2018 VAULT CLASSIC-MARRIAGE COUNSELING 101 WITH, SPECIAL GUEST TRACY T.....(A MUST HEAR)!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Some people may think that because I’m a divorce attorney I do not mind when a marriage fails. Nothing could be further from the truth! As I sit across the desk from many heartbroken clients and listen to their reason(s) for the failure of their marriage, my first question to him/her is whether I can help save the marriage. Perhaps counseling is what I recommend or sessions with a trusted other, like a priest, rabbi or minister to explore remedies for salvaging the relationship. I pride myself on having saved some marriages during my 25 years in practice and would very much like to see people work things out, if they can. I also have come to realize that had they tried one or more of the following ten suggestions, some may be able to keep their marriage from hitting the rocks in the first place.

Episode 28: KINGS OF TALK RADIO PRESENTS, E.G THE URBAN SCHOLAR BREAKS DOWN MENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS MONTH(P.T8)!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Mental illnesses are medical conditions that disrupt a person’s thinking, feeling, mood, ability to relate to others, and daily functioning. Mental Health Awareness Month is an opportunity for us to let everyone know that mental illnesses can affect people of any age, race, religion, or income. They are not the result of personal weakness, lack of character or poor upbringing and cannot be overcome through willpower. But they are treatable. Most people diagnosed with a serious mental illness can experience relief from their symptoms by actively participating in an individual treatment plan.

Without treatment, the consequences of mental illness for the individual and society are staggering. Untreated mental health conditions can result in unnecessary disability, unemployment, substance abuse, homelessness, inappropriate incarceration, suicide, and poor quality of life. The economic cost of untreated mental illness is more than 100 billion dollars each year in the United States.

This Mental Health Awareness Month, please join with Team NAMI California to share our message of hope, empathy and solutions to #EndTheStigma.

During National Mental Health Awareness Month, we honor the absolute courage of the tens of millions of Americans living with mental health conditions, and we celebrate the loved ones and mental health professionals who are there for them every day.  Treatment works, and there is no shame in seeking it.  Together, we will keep fighting to get everyone access to the care they need to live full and happy lives.

As Americans, we have a duty of care to reach out to one another and leave no one behind.  But so many of our friends, colleagues, and loved ones are battling mental health challenges, made worse by the isolation and trauma of COVID-19.  Two in five adults report anxiety and depression, and two in five teens describe experiencing persistent sadness or hopelessness, exacerbated by social media, bullying, and gun violence.  Drug overdose deaths are also near record highs, and suicide is the second leading cause of death among young people.  It does not have to be this way.

The United States has long faced a shortage of mental health providers.  It takes an average of 11 years to get treatment after the onset of symptoms, and less than half of Americans struggling with mental illness ever receive the care they need.  This is especially true in rural and other underserved communities.  That is why the American Rescue Plan made our Nation’s biggest-ever investment in mental health and substance use programs — recruiting, training, and supporting more providers at the State and local levels, including in our schools.  Last year, when we passed the Nation’s first major gun safety law in nearly 30 years, it contained measures to further increase the number of school psychologists and counselors available to our kids, to make it easier for schools to use Medicaid to deliver mental health care, and to expand the Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinics that deliver 24/7 care.  Additionally, we have invested in training more first responders to address mental health-related issues.

Landon was located around 2 p.m. CDT at a local hospital and was booked into the parish jail on Thursday. She is facing charges of first-degree murder and obstruction of justice.

A white Republican councilman in Indiana has sparked outrage after jokingly declaring himself a lesbian woman of color in a Facebook post made earlier this month.

Delaware County Councilman Ryan Webb wrote that he considers himself an Indian American woman, saying he finally feels comfortable sharing his 'true authentic self' - but many have not played into the farce.

'It is with great relief that I announce to everyone that I identify as a woman and not just any woman but as a woman of color as well. I guess this would make me gay/lesbian as well, since I am attracted to women,' he wrote in a post.

Episode 26: RENEGADE TALK RADIO/KINGS OF TALK-E.G THE URBAN SCHOLAR SHOW-PRESENTS A SPECIAL OPEN FROUM SERIES, AND TALKS ABOUT MENTAL ILLNESS+MENTAL DISORDERS) AND WHAT FOOD, YOU SHOULD EAT TO HELP ALSO, RACE AND CULTURE, AND THE WORLD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!(A MUST H

Unfortunately, there's no specific diet that's been proven to relieve depression. Still, while certain eating plans or foods may not ease your symptoms or put you instantly in a better mood, a healthy diet may help as part of your overall treatment.

    Antioxidants Prevent Cell Damage

Our bodies normally make molecules called free radicals, but these can lead to cell damage, aging, and other problems.

Studies show that your brain is particularly at risk. Although there's no way to stop free radicals completely, you can be able to lessen their destructive effect by eating foods rich in antioxidants, including:

    • Beta-carotene: apricots, broccoli, cantaloupe, carrots, collards, peaches, pumpkin, spinach, sweet potato
    • Vitamin C: blueberries, broccoli, grapefruit, kiwi, oranges, peppers, potatoes, strawberries, tomato
    • Vitamin E: margarine, nuts and seeds, vegetable oils, wheat germ

"Smart" Carbs Can Have a Calming Effect

Carbohydrates are linked to the mood-boosting brain chemical, serotonin. Experts aren't sure, but carb cravings sometimes may be related to low serotonin activity.

Choose your carbs wisely. Limit sugary foods and opt for smart or “complex” carbs (such as whole grains) rather than simple carbs (such as cakes and cookies). Fruits, vegetables, and legumes also have healthy carbs and fiber.

A Spanish study found that rates of depression tended to rise in men -- especially smokers -- as they got less folate. The same thing happened for women -- especially those who smoked or didn't exercise -- but when they got less vitamin B12.

This wasn't the first study to find a link between these vitamins and depression. Researchers aren't sure which way the influence goes: do poor nutrient levels lead to depression, or does depression lead people to eat poorly?

In either case, you can get both of these B vitamins from foods in a Mediterranean diet. Legumes, nuts, many fruits, and dark green vegetables have folate. Vitamin B12 can be found in all lean and low-fat animal products, such as fish and low-fat dairy products.

Vitamin D receptors are located throughout the body, including your brain.

A recent national study found that the likelihood of having depression is higher in people with low levels of vitamin D. In another study, researchers from the University of Toronto noticed that people who had symptoms of depression, particularly those with seasonal affective disorder, tended to get better when the amount of vitamin D in their bodies went up as you'd expect it to during the spring and summer.

Researchers don't know how much vitamin D is ideal, although too much can cause problems with calcium levels and how well your kidneys work.

    Select Selenium-Rich Foods

Studies have reported a link between low selenium and poor moods. The recommended amount for selenium is 55 micrograms a day for adults.

Evidence isn't clear that taking supplements can help. And it's possible to get too much selenium. So it's probably best to focus on foods:

    • Beans and legumes
    • Lean meat (lean pork and beef, skinless chicken and turkey)
    • Low-fat dairy products
    • Nuts and seeds (particularly brazil nuts - but do not eat these regularly or more than a couple at a time because they can cause selenium toxicity.
    • Seafood (oysters, clams, sardines, crab, saltwater fish, and freshwater fish)
    • Whole grains (whole-grain pasta, brown rice, oatmeal, etc.)

lthough clearly not identical emotional states, mental health research suggests that depression and anxiety often coexist because they can be caused by the same or similar factors. According to an article published May 2020 in the American Journal of Psychiatry, those overlapping causes can include:

    • Genetic Factors Genetic factors contribute to 40 percent of the predisposition to depressive and anxious symptoms, with 60 percent being attributed to environmental, noninherited factors.” "Especially with anxiety, more so than depression, there often is some family history, and so therefore we think that there may be some genetic predisposition to this," Connolly explains.
    • Environmental Factors Also referred to as social factors, these include experiences like trauma or neglect in early childhood, and current stressorssuch as relationship difficulties, unemployment, social isolation, and physical illness. People who have post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), an anxiety disorder, are particularly likely to also develop depression, according to the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH).
    • Pain Chronic pain, and particularly disabling pain syndromes such as fibromyalgia, irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), low back pain, headaches, and nerve pain, are closely linked to psychological distress, including both anxiety and depression, notes Harvard Health. In fact, they say, research suggests that “pain shares some biological mechanisms with anxiety and depression.”

Ultimately, the core of the double disorder is “a cycle,” says Connolly. "When you get anxious, you tend to have this pervasive thinking about some worry or some problem and you feel bad about it. Then you feel like you've failed, and you move to depression." Similarly, she adds, “people who are depressed often feel anxious and worried, so one can trigger the other."

Episode 21: E.G THE URBAN SCHOLAR, GOES IN ON THE TOP 10 BEST WAYS TO START A SUCCESSFUL BUSINESS!!!!!!!!!!!(A MUST HEAR)!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Episode 21: E.G THE URBAN SCHOLAR, GOES IN ON THE TOP 10 BEST WAYS TO START A SUCCESSFUL BUSINESS!!!!!!!!!!!(A MUST HEAR)!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The public often hears about overnight successes because they make for a great headline. However, it’s rarely that simple—they don’t see the years of dreaming, building and positioning before a big public launch. For this reason, remember to focus on your business journey and don’t measure your success against someone else’s.

    Consistency Is Key

New business owners tend to feed off their motivation initially but get frustrated when that motivation wanes. This is why it’s essential to create habits and follow routines that power you through when motivation goes away.

    Take the Next Step

Some business owners dive in headfirst without looking and make things up as they go along. Then, there are business owners who stay stuck in analysis paralysis and never start. Perhaps you’re a mixture of the two—and that’s right where you need to be. The best way to accomplish any business or personal goal is to write out every possible step it takes to achieve the goal. Then, order those steps by what needs to happen first. Some steps may take minutes while others take a long time. The point is to always take the next step.

Know yourself, your true motivational level, the amount of money you can risk, and what you’re willing to do to be successful. Sure, we all want to make millions of dollars. But what are you willing to give up to reach that goal? How many hours a week will you work on an ongoing basis? How far out of your comfort zone are you willing to stretch? How far will your family stretch with you?

To be successful, keep your business plans in line with your personal and family goals and resources.

Choose the right business for you. The old formula — find a need and fill it — still works. It will always work. The key to success is finding needs that you can fill, that you want to fill, and that will produce enough income to build a profitable business.

Be sure there really is a market for what you want to sell. One of the biggest mistakes startups make is to assume a lot of people will want to buy a particular product or service because the business owner likes the idea or knows one or two people who want the product or service.

To minimize your risk for loss, never assume there’s a market. Research the idea. Talk to real potential prospects (who aren’t family and friends) to find out if what you want to sell is something they’d be interested in buying and, if so, what they’d pay for the product or service.

Research your competitors. No matter what type of business you’re starting or running, you’ll have competitors. Even if there’s no other business offering exactly what you plan to sell, there are very likely to be other products or services your target customers are using to satisfy their needs.

Episode 18: E.G THE URBAN SCHOLAR GOES IN ON TAKEOFF'S DEATH, AND HOW THE HIP-HOP COMMUNITY IS NOT TO BLAME+WERE THIS GENERATION IS HEADING!!!!!!!!!!!!!(A MUST HEAR)!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

After the shooting death of Migos rapper Takeoff in Houston on Tuesday, the hip-hop community is again mourning the loss of an influential and popular star whose music helped define the sound of a generation for over a decade.

"We lost a young legend," "Hustlin'" rapper Rick Ross tweeted.

Drake, who toured with Migos in 2018, shared a tribute to Takeoff on Instagram, along with a photo of the two on stage.

"I got the best memories of all of us seeing the world together and bringing light to every city we touch. That's what I'll focus on for now. rest easy space man Take," he wrote, along with a rocket emoji.

Takeoff, whose real name is Kirshnik Khari Ball, was shot and killed early Tuesday outside the 810 Billiards & Bowling in downtown Houston following a private event, police said. He was 28. Quavo, Takeoff's uncle and one-third of Migos, who was also present at the time, was not injured.

olice urged the public to come forward with tips and said that shots were fired following an argument. There is no indication that the rapper was involved in the dispute, according to police, who said the investigation is ongoing.

Takeoff was a member of the hip-hop trio Migos, a Grammy-nominated group based in Atlanta that he formed with Quavo - the unofficial frontman of the group - and his cousin Offset.

The trio went on to collaborate with the biggest stars in the music industry and are known for hits like "Motorsport," featuring Nicki Minaj and Cardi B, and the iconic 2016 anthem, "Bad and Boujee," featuring Lil Uzi Vert. Each of the rappers have also released solo albums.

Offset, who is married to hip-hop star Cardi B, left the group earlier this year. He changed his Instagram profile picture to a photo of Takeoff after he was killed.

Greg Street, an Atlanta-based hip-hop DJ who has known the group for years, said that while Takeoff was "the reserved one" in the group, he was "extremely talented" and "you can hear his influence" throughout the Migos discography.

"I think they were headed for bigger things because of their success," Street told "Nightline." "You know, success brings more success when you're grounded, you're rooted, you understand making moves."

Takeoff and Quavo released a joint album last month, "Only Built for Infinity Links" and a clip of Takeoff's appearance on Revolt TV's "Drink Champs" discussing the project went viral after his death.

Episode 17: E.G THE URBAN SCHOLAR, HAS AN OPEN FOURM TALKS TOP 9 WAYS TO KEEP YOUR MARRIAGE/ RELATIONSHIP, ADVICE FROM A HOLLYWOOD GRU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!(A MUST HEAR)!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

When couples first arrive at my clinic on Harley Street, their marriages are often hanging by the slenderest of threads. They are lost, confused and upset. They have been through multiple therapists, have scoped out divorce lawyers and are on the very brink of separation.

That’s why my office has been called ‘The Last Chance Saloon’. As a marriage crisis coach, it’s my job to pull couples who should be together back from the brink and help them heal, so that once again their marriage is strong, loving and capable of lasting the distance.

It’s my aim not only to revive the spark but see it flare back into life. I don’t have much time to work with these people. My clients include Britain’s top CEOs, A-list celebrities and even royals — wealthy and successful people with lifestyles andpersonalities that demand almost instant results.

They don’t want to examine their childhoods or lie for hours on couches; they want to know what to do now. They don’t know how to get past the combative patterns in their marriages and they think it will take too long to change the dominant emotions of hurt and resentment.

n fact, in more than 17 years of coaching up to 100 couples a year, I can guarantee that it’s not changing that takes time. It’s growing the confidence needed to feel safe enough to change.

I take my clients through a 12-session process where they learn new skills — such as understanding vulnerability is a strength in a relationship — and accept that their happiness isn’t their partner’s responsibility.

Hours later, Gap and then Foot Locker said they would immediately remove Yeezy products from its stores.

“Foot Locker, Inc. does not tolerate any form of antisemitism, or hateful and discriminatory behavior. While we remain a partner with adidas and carry a wide assortment of their collections – we will not be supporting any future Yeezy product drops,” a Foot Locker spokesperson said.

Gap also shut down YeezyGap.com, which now redirects to the Gap website.

“Antisemitism, racism and hate in any form are inexcusable and not tolerated in accordance with our values,” said Gap, which announced in September that it would end its partnership with Ye. The clothing retailer said at the time it would sell through its remaining Yeezy inventory.

Gap and Foot Locker’s statements echoed what Adidas said earlier. “Adidas does not tolerate antisemitism and any other sort of hate speech. Ye’s recent comments and actions have been unacceptable, hateful and dangerous, and they violate the company’s values of diversity and inclusion, mutual respect and fairness,” the company said.

“After a thorough review, the company has taken the decision to terminate the partnership with Ye immediately, end production of Yeezy branded products and stop all payments to Ye and his companies. Adidas will stop the Adidas Yeezy business with immediate effect.”

Dr Alpana Waghmare, an infectious diseases expert at Seattle Children's Hospital told the New York Times: 'We’re seeing everything come back with a vengeance.'

Dr Gottlieb told CBS 'Face the Nation' over the weekend that the Covid pandemic has 'changed' the circulation cycle for other viruses.

'We're seeing a peak in cases right now,' he said.

'This is not unlike the season last year, where we also saw an early peak.

'In those cases, some people ascribe it to the fact that children have been somewhat removed from the circulating pathogen, so you don't have as much immunity to the pathogen, so you don't have as much immunity in the population generally.

'So that's changed the typical cycle for this virus.'

Typically the RSV season runs from mid-September to mid-November. But this year it began in August.

The virus, which causes mild, cold-like symptoms in most adults and older children, can be deadly for babies, according to the CDC.

In severe cases it can spread to the lower respiratory tract, causing pneumonia or bronchiolitis.

PCR-confirmed cases have now risen to their highest level since the pandemic began hitting 7,334 diagnoses in the latest week.

His motive for the attack at the school of about 400 students is unclear.

A teenage girl was pronounced dead inside the school, while one woman died in hospital, police told local media.

The seven injured - three girls and four boys - all had non-life-threatening injuries, according to local media.

Students were running out of the school when officers arrived and said the attacker had a "long gun", according to the city's police commissioner Michael Sack.

He said seven security workers on site had acted quickly to notify other staff and contact police.

The gunman was found to be carrying hundreds of bullets that were sorted into nearly a dozen high-capacity magazines, Mr Sack later said, adding: "This could have been much worse."

"This is a heart-breaking day for all of us," he added. FBI agents are helping the investigation.

One student told the KMOV local news station the attacker had walked up to a friend and asked her: "You ready to die?"

Raven Terry said: "We just ran real, real fast... and we were just crying, all shaken up about it."

Taniya Gholston, 16, told the St Louis Post-Dispatch newspaper that the gunman had entered her classroom and tried to shoot her.

"I was trying to run and I couldn't run," she said. "Me and him made eye contact but I made it out because his gun got jammed."

She said she overheard the attacker saying: "I'm tired of this damn school."

Police said the gunman graduated last year from the school and had no history of criminal behaviour.

One of the victims was identified by family as health teacher Jean Kuczka.

Kuczka, 61, had taught at the school since 2008, according to an online biography, and was a grandmother of seven.

"My mom loved kids," her daughter Abigail Kuczka told the Post-Dispatch, adding that she had died protecting her students.

Those injured are said to be suffering from gunshot wounds, shrapnel injuries and cardiac arrest.

"Our children shouldn't have to experience this," St Louis Mayor Tishaura Jones said at a news conference after the shooting.

"They shouldn't have to go through active shooter drills in case something

Episode 13: E.G GOES IN ON (PRISON REFORM) AND, WHAT IS IT REALLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!(2019 CLASSIC)

Episode 13: E.G GOES IN ON (PRISON REFORM) AND, WHAT IS IT REALLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!(2019 CLASSIC)

Imprisonment disproportionately affects individuals and families living in poverty. When an income generating member of the family is imprisoned the rest of the family must adjust to this loss of income. The impact can be especially severe in poor, developing countries where the state does not provide financial assistance to the indigent and where it is not unusual for one breadwinner to financially support an extended family network.

Thus the family experiences financial losses as a result of the imprisonment of one of its members, exacerbated by the new expenses that must be met – such as the cost of a lawyer, food for the imprisoned person, transport to prison for visits and so on. When released, often with no prospects for employment, former prisoners are generally subject to socio-economic exclusion and are thus vulnerable to an endless cycle of poverty, marginalisation, criminality and imprisonment. Thus, imprisonment contributes directly to the impoverishment of the prisoner, of his family (with a significant cross-generational effect) and of society by creating future victims and reducing future potential economic performance.

Episode 12: E.G GOES IN ON, THE PENTAGON TO PROVIDE FUNDS TO HELP WITH TROOPS SEEKING ABORTIONS+HOME SALES FALL TO A 10 YEAR LOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!PART 1 (A MUST HEAR)!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Under federal law, the Pentagon’s health care system can provide abortions only in cases of rape or incest or when a mother’s life is in danger. That doesn’t change under the new policy. The funds the military would provide service members would cover transportation only; they would not pay for abortion services that are not covered by federal law.

Attorney Natalie Khawam, who represented the family of slain U.S. soldier Vanessa Guillén, whose body was found last year outside the boundary of Fort Hood, Texas, said the policy is part of a continued effort by the Pentagon to address a military culture that has not been supportive of female service members. Guillén’s death led to sweeping changes as to how sexual harassment and assault are addressed in the military.

Despite the slowdown in sales, inventory continues to drop. There were 1.25 million homes for sales at the end of September, down 0.8% compared with September 2021. At the current sales pace, that represents a 3.2-month supply. Six months is considered a balanced supply.

“Despite weaker sales, multiple offers are still occurring with more than a quarter of homes selling above list price due to limited inventory,” said Lawrence Yun, chief economist at the NAR. “The current lack of supply underscores the vast contrast with the previous major market downturn from 2008 to 2010, when inventory levels were four times higher than they are today.”

Episode 10: E.G THE URBAN SCHOLAR, GOES IN ON THE VIOLENT WEEK AS POLICE KILLINGS RISE+METAVERSE IS TERRIBLE, PLUS HOLIDAY TRAVEL PRICES AT A ALL TIME HIGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!(A MUST HEAR)!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Fraternal Order of Police reported that through Sept. 30 of this year, there had been 63 ambush-style attacks in which officers were wounded, with 93 officers shot, 24 fatally. That’s a lower number of such attacks than the first nine months of 2021, when there were 75 ambushes of officers, with 93 shot and 21 killed. The total number of ambushes in which police were hurt last year more than doubled from 2020.

The increase in ambushes and killings of police comes at a time when many departments around the country face staffing shortages, with some agencies down hundreds of officers and struggling to fill vacancies.

COVID-19 has been the biggest killer of police officers in the past few years, with 280 deaths in 2020, 467 in 2021 and 64 so far this year, the Officer Down Memorial Page reports. But many officers have retired early or resigned out of frustration with what they see as sagging public support amid “defund police” efforts prompted by the murder of George Floyd by a Minneapolis officer and the deaths of other Black people at the hands of law enforcement.

xperts say the best way to get ahead of the price surges is to book as soon as possible.

"If you haven’t booked holiday travel already, get ready for some really painful sticker shock," said Scott Mayerowitz, executive editor at The Points Guy travel savings website.

Berg, the economist at Hopper, said travelers should also try to take advantage of any flexibility they might have in their schedules. Arriving or departing on weekdays, especially earlier in the week, can often result in savings even if it means staying an extra day or more.

If there's any good news, it is that the rate of delays and cancellations that bedeviled travelers earlier this year has been reduced, according to data from flight tracking group FlightAware.com. FlightAware spokesperson Kathleen Bangs said that airlines have been quietly hiring more workers to help meet customer demand, which has helped reduce disruptions.

he "Doom" creator clearly isn't a fan. "I've always been clear that I'm all about the cost-effective mass-market headsets being the most important thing for us and for the adoption of VR," Carmack said during the event. "And Quest Pro is definitely not that..."
