Coordinating the Kentucky Opioid Response Effort

Coordinating the Kentucky Opioid Response Effort

In January 2022, Adam T. Trosper transitioned to state opioid coordinator with the Kentucky Opioid Response Effort (KORE). Previously a program administrator in the Adult Substance Use Treatment and Recovery Services Branch of the Department for Behavioral Health, Developmental and Intellectual Disabilities (DBHDID), Trosper oversaw the Oxford House program and faith-based initiatives. On today’s episode we discuss summer camp counselor life and shared work with homeless populations, as well as KORE’s significant impact across the state. Trosper has an undergraduate degree in sociology with a minor in religion from Centre College and a master’s degree in social work from Western Kentucky University.

Raj Koneru CEO of Kore.ai on Conversational AI Today - Voicebot Podcast Ep 252

Raj Koneru CEO of Kore.ai on Conversational AI Today - Voicebot Podcast Ep 252
Raj Koneru is the CEO of Kore.ai.  He founded the company in 2014 to tackle the need for automated interactions in messaging. That led to conversational AI services for messaging platforms ranging from white label solutions for enterprises to integration with WhatsApp Apple Messages for Business and other platforms. The company also expanded into voice services and last fall raised $70 million in a Series C funding round.

Today, we discuss the evolution of chatbots and voice assistants, what enterprises are focused on automating now, and the role conversational AI will play in the metaverse.

    Self Care, Everybody

    Self Care, Everybody

This week, I interview Dr. Allen Brenzel, medical director of the Department for Behavioral Health, Developmental, and Intellectual Disabilities (BHDID). Dr. Brenzel is a lifelong Kentuckian who graduated from the University of Louisville School of Medicine. His five-year residency at the University of Kentucky (UK) allowed him to study general pediatrics plus adult and child psychiatry, making Dr. Brenzel a triple board graduate. In this podcast, we have a valuable conversation about attachment, trauma and the importance of investing in young children and their families. We also discuss the Kentucky Opioid Response Effort (KORE) during COVID-19, and how much we value CHFS employees who have served wholeheartedly throughout the pandemic.

Out of the Shadows with KORE

Out of the Shadows with KORE

Today’s guest is Katie Marks, Ph.D, Project Director for the Kentucky Opioid Response Effort (KORE), which includes the SAMHSA-funded State Opioid Response grants awarded to the CHFS Department for Behavioral Health, Developmental, and Intellectual Disabilities.

Dr. Marks was raised on a farm in Jefferson County and attended Murray State for her undergraduate degree. After completing her Master’s degree at American University, she returned to the commonwealth to obtain her Ph.D. in psychology at the University of Kentucky.

Dr. Marks’ utilizes her research background in substance use disorder treatment and behavioral health recovery to guide KORE. She shares a passion for data, implementation science, and community engagement with her many collaborators in the Cabinet. We wholeheartedly agree that treatment works, and recovery is possible.
