Renardo Sidney: The Next Chapter (Former Mississippi State Star & Pro)

Renardo Sidney: The Next Chapter (Former Mississippi State Star & Pro)

We have a good one for all of you hoop heads today! We have former McDonalds High School All American and Mississippi State star Renardo Sidney in the house! For those who have had the opportunity to see or play against Renardo Sidney in high school, you know just how damn special he was. If you haven’t heard of Renardo Sidney then you really should tune in. His story in an important one that can help pave the way for some of the young athletes coming up.

Sidney was arguably the most skilled player ever in high school at his position and 6’10 size. He not only had a powerful and smooth inside game, but he could step out and take you off the dribble, make your defense look stupid with his court vision, or simply just step out and hit the 3 with ease. To give you an idea, the dude was the MVP of the ABCD Camp as an EIGHTH GRADER. He was at one point the #1 player in the nation, most notably playing alongside James Harden at Artesia before finishing high school at Fairfax. He played three seasons at Mississippi State before going undrafted in the 2012 NBA Draft. To this day we can’t quite understand why such an incredible talent was never drafted, but Renardo was kind enough to share his story.

We truly had a blast learning more from Renardo and we can’t thank him enough for his time. You will learn quickly that he is one of the most misunderstood and kind guys you would ever meet. He is giving so much back to the game by helping young athletes both on and off the court, and that is something that we respect and admire. Of course he will always be remembered for his amazing ability on the court, but his legacy is truly just getting started and we know that he is going to help change a lot of lives.

    Thank you Renardo Sidney!
