Please forgive the audio quality this week. As we recorded on location at the lodge we had to use a cell phone.
It is Labor Day weekend and we are all busy with family and friends so we are keeping it short today and will not be featuring an interview. Not to worry though we have several great interviews recorded and ready to go for the episodes to come. Today the family and I spent some time up at the lodge while I was doing some awesome research of our history. My daughter jumps in to present today's article from Masonry Today.com which I was really excited about. We want to make sure and recognize those in Texas enduring the struggle of the hurricane right now. The MSA is accepting donations to support their needs. Please see below for the link to MSA where you can offer your support. Now off to light the grill and spend some time relaxing with the family. See you next time!

In this episode, we sit down with Bro. Matthew Fisher for an enjoyable chat on his lodge, their history, and their integration of the communities history as well. Make sure you catch this interview as it was very enjoyable and informative. Brother Fisher's great personality and admiration for the Craft definitely shine through and bring a lot to the table this week!

Gardner Lodge members recently attended a meeting at Topeka Lodge No. 17 where Bro. Powers had a speaking engagement giving an informative presentation on the preservation and recovery of lodge history. Due to several Gardner members being in attendance for this they surprisingly met the requirements to “steal” their Traveling Gavel. This gavel (see the episode for photos) was released by PGM and current Grand Secretary, Tracy Bloom in honor of his late father.
Alex has another big speaking engagement coming soon on August 19th in Topeka, Ks. He will be presenting at the Midwest Conference on Masonic Education. This is a large, respected, and quality conference between 13 midwestern Masonic jurisdictions. This event is rarely held in Kansas and is featuring a pretty epic speaker line up including Bro. Powers as a special lunchtime presenter who will be speaking on the topic “Examining the Craft: Then, Now, and Yet to Come”. Get your tickets TODAY!

In this episode, Today is a short episode. We do not have an interview included due to not having enough time to allow for editing of an episode that size. However we do touch on the recently passed TMR 300 celebration in Alexandria, VA. Did you attend? Let us know what you thought! St. John's day also recently passed. Gardner Lodge celebrated the occasion by having the lodge attend service together followed by a lodge picnic out at the secretary's amazing homestead. Did you know the finger of St. John the Baptist is right here in Kansas City?! For ALL this and not much more join us for this week's episode. Afterwards join the conversation on the Facebook group (Historical Light Masonic Research Group).
