Jessi & Yam share a special message from their listeners, and the two of them have a conversation with legendary ambient/new-age artist Laraaji & his partner Arji Oceananda about the medicinal qualities of laughter, the portable and lightweight aspects of the human voice, why singing in the grocery store might be a good idea, and what it means (and sounds like) to live a higher-vibrational life. Laraaji covers the Beatles, and Yam shares a song with Jessi inspired by meeting his personal hero called Hello Forever.
/// If you're interested in attending one of Laraaji & Arji's many laughter playshops or sound healing events, you can find upcoming tour dates on their website. If you'd like to dive into the vast ocean of celestial sound that is Laraaji’s music catalogue, you can check him out on Bandcamp, Spotify, or anywhere else you might stream music. Also, Yam personally recommends watching this tiny desk concert, listening to this meditation and watching this phenomenal music video of Laraaji so that you can only bliss out f’days and days.

I'm very grateful to have LARAAJI on my next show LEVEZA with an exclusive deep listening session for the radio.
Laraaji is synonymous with ambient music, meditation and cosmic energy - his Laughter workshops, deep listening performances and yoga tours have become a program highlight at some of the worlds finest arts institutions, festivals and clubs. Awakened to mysticism in the 70's, Laraaji bought a second hand zither and began busking around Manhattan and Brooklyn - he was playing in Washington Square Park when Brian Eno heard him, resulting in Laraaji recording the third release of Eno's seminal "Ambient" series. Forty years and almost fifty albums later, Laraaji is at the forefront of deep listening and ambient music.
As part of events for Marfa Myths, dublab teamed up with Marfa Radio and The Lot Radio to present a series of live performances. Legendary artist, Laraaji, was one of the featured guests. We are happy to bring you his luminous set again here on Live at dublab Radio.
Live at dublab Radio is produced by dublab. Sound editing and theme music are by Matteah Baim. Visit dublab.com to find out more!
Did you resolve to put more time and energy into staying on top of the best pop culture stories of the week? Lucky for you, The Pop Insiders are here to help you keep that resolution with our brand new episode!
First, we give our spoiler free reviews of the new Lena Waithe Showtime drama - The Chi (please feel free to listen and then correct our pronunciation of the title of this show) and the first episode of the new season of Black Mirror.
Then we speak with IMDb special correspondent and frequent Today Show awards commentator - Dave Karger - about the movies of 2017 that may not be front-runners for the big awards, but are definitely worthy of your attention. From Detroit to Wonderstruck to Downsizing, Dave will tell you why you should give these flicks a second - or maybe first chance.
We also share our pop culture resolutions for the new year and hold each other accountable for how successful we were in keeping our 2017 resolutions.
And the Big Sell returns - Sean recommends (wait for it) a new new age song (nope that isn't a typo) to start Amita's year off on an optimistic and blissful note.
