Navigating a Season of Change: A Guided Reflection

Navigating a Season of Change: A Guided Reflection

Seasons of change -- whether a change in relationship status, careers, general adult pathways-- can be difficult. Our first instinct may be to reject the situation or to question why a certain opportunity didn't present itself when it felt so perfect so...*aligned*. I've been through my fair share of these (and am currently going through so many shifts in my own life!!) so I thought I would share a reflection and meditation exercise that helps ground me when it feels like everything around me is changing. I hope it helps you as much as it's helped me!

How will this impact the already challenging real estate market? Even more important, will this create another obstacle for the Latino/x community who are trying to buy their first homes?

Join me in this week's chisme of what this lawsuit can do to the potential future of the real estate industry and the negative impact it could have to the Latino community.

    74. The Mommy "Likability Trap"
In the complex world of motherhood, we often find ourselves in an impossible bind...either you're a complainer because you're overwhelmed with the realities of motherhood, or you're annoying because you seem to have everything under control. Is a balance actually possible? Today we talk to award-winning journalist, fellow podcaster and mother of two, Alicia Menendez who promises to empower us by reminding us how and why we shouldn't fall into this trap of being liked in the workplace, but most importantly outside of it...in our most important roles as mothers.

EP 84: "JACKIE & DALI DEBATE ON IF THE WORLD IS GETTING BETTER OR WORSE. ALSO, LOTS OF OTHER CONVOS FROM HOMELESSNESS, TO WAR, ALL THE WAY TO COFFEE"

    Welcome back AWAY family!

This week we dive deep into a few different conversations. The main topic though is if we believe the world is getting better or worse. Or could it just be that because we are getting older, the more life we are experiencing and that is making it seem as if our surroundings are worsening.  Could the media play a role into our perspective of the way the world is?

Throughout the episode, we also touch on deep interesting topics such as homelessness, drug addiction, war, racism, the environment, and coffee. Like we said, this week we're having multiple different conversations. When we sit. down to think and analyze the world to form an opinion on whether or not the world is getting better or worse, it's easy to get into so many aspects the world has to offer us. We feel like it's important to explore and discuss all of these aspects constantly. Is there a viewpoint you have on life that you believe is getting better or getting worse?

Also, Dali has some exciting news she has decided to share with us!

    EP 76: God's Plan!

    EP 76: God's Plan!

Welcome back everyone to another episode of Are We Adulting Yet! The show that discusses all of the adult obstacles, drama, and struggles we all face in our day to day lives.

This week we start off with our Grown Folk Business. The segment where we vent about all of the adult tasks that have consumed our lives lately. We all need a moment to decompress and let it all out.

We then came together to discuss the juicy story that we're sure has been flooding everybody's timeline. Drake and his hot sauce story is definitely getting people talking so you know we had to put our two cents in on the topic.

Unfortunately, these types of incidences happen all of the time, and not just with celebrities. Statistics show that tricking your partner into getting pregnant is mostly common in normal everyday relationships and sexual encounters among both men and women. Why are so many of us ok with deceiving others in such a life changing way. Could it be because of money? Love? Our ego?

Also, we are currently taking any suggestions for any future guest appearances on the show. So if you feel like you or someone you know may be a good fit, HIT US UP!

Ana Baskharone on Investing in Yourself as a Leader | Ep. 24

"It's important that you network with other leaders, directors - not necessarily just executives - so that they are advocating for you as well. It's not just a one of one, it's one of many conversations that you have to have to build that network and for others to also be able to envision how you can be part of that leadership team." - Ana Baskharone

Ana Baskharone is a Director in a large utilities company headquartered in Houston, Texas. After 30 years of working hard, Ana began to feel stuck in her career - so she hired a coach. That move, among others, helped her to land a new position when she began to advocate for herself and share her story as a leader. Ana talks about her Latina identity and her journey as a first generation college student to corporate director. She describes her love of golf and its parallels to life. She also shares her passion for early childhood education as a Board member of nonprofit, Collaborative for Children.

EP 74, SERIES 2: The adults who wear the robes!

EP 74, SERIES 2: The adults who wear the robes!

Welcome back to a brand new episode of Are We Adulting Yet Podcast! If you don’t know,  your two favorite girls are switching it up! We are introducing series to the show. Each series will be based on a specific topic, and each episode within the series will be used to go a bit more in depth of that topic. We are excited to announce that our second season will be dedicated to culty adults! That’s right...CULTS! Each episode will be focused on a specific cult that we just have to talk about.

This week we dive deep into a cult that isn't really known as a cult. We're talking about the KKK. The adults who come together in the name of God and hate on every other race that isn't there own.  These groups of people are really known as a terrorist group but they way they come together and allow themselves to believe in what they do has cult written all over it. One of the crappiest cults in history if you ask us.
