How long should you wait between 2 Reconsideration Request when you get hit by a manual Google Penalty?
Also, what should you do if you want to maximise the chances to get out of the penalty?
I see too many SEO not trying hard enough when they cleanup whatever Google is accusing you of doing. You have to go all the way. Don’t do a little bit of cleanup between submitting a Reconsideration Request in Google Search Console. Eliminate the spammy pages or links like you mean it. The Google penalty team is ready to give a second chance to websites that made mistakes.

Google became very slow. Now, it takes months before you can observe the effects of a backlink.

Mainly, Pagerank still holds the most value for Google when it comes to favor some URLs over others. Of course, any signal associated with authority and trust will help out, but basic popularity aka Pagerank still rules. The same on-site SEO strategy on a website Pagerank 2 will not have the same success than the same strategy applied to a Pagerank 6 website.

Also, remember the Web is interpreted by Google on a page and not a domain level.

Today, pretty much all the websites on the first page of Google’s results are using the HTTPS protocol.

It doesn’t mean you can still rank today with a website in HTTP. 

However, it will becoming increasingly more difficult, as the Web is moving forward more security, privacy, etc.

It’s a hard pill to swallow, but we have to face the facts. The data does not lie. We have to migrate towards HTTPS. Just be careful. HTTPS is full of performance potential issues. 

You have to do it right!

Redirects are technically very complicated to interpret for Google.

It’s too easy to brake Google with redirects. If you are creative, funky things happen when you play with redirects.

A penalized domain can pass on the penalty or not.

Why the rush? Get the domain out of the penalty and then do the redirect.

If you calibrate your keywords target, integrating the time factor, it will work.
I recommend applying this strategy for ranking during 3 months maximum.

I call this strategy the Trojan horse. It’s a vey powerful lnikbuilding strategy.

Build a website profiled to attract backlinks from your target. Figure out a way to solve a problem that will motivate your target to link back to you.

Solve problems, then communicate about it.

This website will be separated from your money site.

Then, you can do it Black Hat SEO style with a cloaked 301 backlink from the Trojan Horse to the money site. If it’s not needed, simply build links back to your money site.

I’ve used this strategy several times and it works beautifully, if well executed.

On a very basic level, your website is safe. Negative Attacks with blasts of shady backlinks will
most likely not work.
However, the Duplicate Content algorithmic flaw has never been fixed. I was part of the Search
Hackers Team which put it out (search for DarkSeoTeam). You can stil do some damage on a
URL level to take it down by duplicating it non stop and boosting the duplicated URLs.
Then, you have the most evil of them all : building a very strong backlink, then removing it a few
months later. The target page will not recover.
By the way, Negative SEO is mostly effective on a URL level. Taking down an entire site,
without going on the hacking side of things, is not really possible.
To protect your website, make it stronger. Increase PageRank, Authority, Trust, Notoriety,
Popularity,...
The more powerful your site, the less likely Negative SEO will work against you.

The concept of cloaking is about presenting something different between the human visitor and GoogleBot.
It can include content, links or redirection.
