Episode 20: Ice and Skating Blind
On Episode 20 of Outdoors with Lawrence Gunther it’s still winter and there’s still ice, so let’s go skating, blind. First though, Ms Lilly has some schooling for us on when ice first took hold on earth, and how often our big, beautiful planet froze as hard as a nut. Lilly has also been looking up information about outdoor skating opportunities in Canada, and examples of blind ice skaters who compete in dance. I reach out to my friend Kevin Frost, the world’s fastest blind speed skater, for his tips on speed skating blind and deaf. And, to wrap things up I offer up some tips of my own for skating with a sighted guide.
