First though, Ms Lilly has some schooling for us on when ice first took hold on earth, and how often our big, beautiful planet froze as hard as a nut. Lilly has also been looking up information about outdoor skating opportunities in Canada, and examples of blind ice skaters who compete in dance. I reach out to my friend Kevin Frost, the world’s fastest blind speed skater, for his tips on speed skating blind and deaf. And, to wrap things up I offer up some tips of my own for skating with a sighted guide. In 1986, I was one of the first ten people in Ontario to get a guide dog. Today on Outdoors with Lawrence Gunther we are talking dogs and especially guide dogs. Ms. Lilly has some fun facts about guide dogs, our bucket list recommendation includes an interview with the co-managers of the CNIB guide Dog School where they only Train Guide dogs, and I’ve got some tips on caring for your guide dog.
