The Layer Two wars are heating up! Across the crypto ecosystem are rumblings of cutting edge Zero-Knowledge technology being developed and when they officially hit the market.  So we were delighted to sit down with Omar Azhar from Matter Labs (zkSync) and Rico Muller (Sygnum) to understand Layer 2s, and the evolution from plasma chains, side chains and optimistic roll ups to zero knowledge proofs and the arrival of Layer 3s. Its a technical subject, but an important one to understand!  We look at questions like: 

1. Why do we need to scale? What are different approaches to scaling? 
2. What are Zero-Knowledge rollups and why is everyone so excited about them?

Sushiswap started as a fork of Uniswap at the end of August 2020. Yet today it grew into an empire of AMM where the contributors of Sushi added a bunch of supporting features and protocols into this multi-functional AMM suite. In light of the upcoming launching event of BentoBox, I was thrilled to record this podcast with 0xMaki. 

We talked about the progress of Onsen, Bentobox, and other items being mentioned in Sushiswap's 2021 Roadmap. We also touched upon their collaboration with the Yearn community. Maki shared some of his opinions about some cross-chain efforts they engaged, and his views on the choices of Layer 2s. We also discussed the value accruals to the Sushi token.

As the mainnet of Perpetual Protocol  (https://perp.fi/) is going live in two weeks, we invited Yenwen Feng, the founder of Perpetual Protocol to be on this episode.

In this episode, we first talked about Yenwen's history as a serial entrepreneur. We discussed why he wanted to work on decentralized perpetual swap product, and how he got inspiration of the product design. We dived deep into the product design of the perpetual protocol, especially on its virtual automated market maker part. 

In our discussion on their choice of Ethereum Layer 2 scaling solution, Yenwen expressed his interesting thoughts about the L2 space. We also reviewed Perp's widely applauded public sales via the Balancer Liquidity Bootstrapping Pool (LBP), as he compared that choice with some other available options at the time. At the end, Yenwen shared about the Defi and the ETH community in Taiwan, and discussed some of the bottlenecks he perceived among the projects in the east.

Overall, this was a very interesting discussion!
