S3E12 - Spider-Man: Homecoming and Suicide Squad (A Lost Episode)

S3E12 - Spider-Man: Homecoming and Suicide Squad (A Lost Episode)

Spider-Man: Homecoming is a fun, light-hearted story of a teenager trying to find his place in the world.  He has to navigate high-school, relationships, responsibilities and being a super-hero. He wants to keep his city safe from criminals and villains but he also wants to go to a dance in his high-school gymnasium.  Its a nice departure from the norm while still fitting firmly in the MCU. It also has a real John Hughes thing going on which totally works.

We compare that to Suicide Squad which had all the potential in the world of being a fun anti-hero movie.  It wasn't.  It missed the mark in a lot of ways. It was a bummer to think of what might have been...

    KYD 059 - Dune

    KYD 059 - Dune

OK, ok...we know we're late.  But we've got a good excuse!  And we've got a new episode for you now!

Chrysten used to watch Dune with her dad when she was definitely way too young to be watching anything helmed by David Lynch.  Dan had started watching Dune awhile back and...thinks he stopped after the first twenty minutes or so?  So what do your two hosts do when they have just moved into a new apartment and have no time or money to go out in the new neighborhood?  They watch Dune.

Based on the Frank Herbert novel, Dune is the epic saga of the feud between House Atreides and House Harkonnen and their political war over an intergalactic export called "The Spice."  There's a prophesy, some terrible knife fights, Sting, and lotsa David Lynch visuals!  But how do our hosts feel about Lynch's sci-fi endeavor?  Join us and find out!  And don't forget to RATE, REVIEW & SUBSCRIBE!

Ep 170: Thanos & His Bejeweled Fisting Mitten of Death

Ep 170: Thanos & His Bejeweled Fisting Mitten of Death

In this episode your brave heroes discuss the newest Trailers for Avengers: Infinity War and Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald.

In getting into the Geeking Out segment, Neighbor Cole brings out the hungry fella as he talks both his appetite for Ugly Delicious (an actual food program on Netflix) and The Outisider, where we quickly learn he would quickly eat up Jared Leto (Leeto?) as he's a nice prime piece of man meat. The Angry Ginger geeks out about 2 new shows on Netflix you have to watch! Love Season 3 and Altered Carbon. The Shape of Water was recently watched as well... Was it deserving of all of it's accolades?

Rounding out the show we give some geek news and then share our Top 7 one word title films!

    Ep. 9 - Suicide Squad

    Ep. 9 - Suicide Squad

You know the drill. These Warner Bros. and DCEU films tend to dominate their first weekend at the box office, but then quickly taper off in both profit and relevancy. Luckily, our man Ron drops in to save you with a hilarious full recap of Suicide Squad, a David Ayer film starring Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn, Jared Leto as The Joker, and Will Smith as Will Smith. The Highs and Lows of Suicide Squad

The Highs and Lows of Suicide Squad

    Movie Meltdown - Episode 360

This week the dynamic duo returns to their long-running series on superhero movies with an EPIC discussion of the new release Suicide Squad. As well as the recent trailers for upcoming superhero films and how all of this works (or doesn't) into the bigger universe being built by these movies.

And while we come to terms with the fact that Gotham just sucks as a city, we also mention... Dr. Strange, Wonder Woman, Justice League, Batman: Assault on Arkham, Geoff Johns, Hannibal, clemency?, an origins movie, Léon: The Professional, Captain America, David Ayer, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, James Gunn, one big orgy of geekiness, the reasons for the soundtrack, to make magic not look stupid, don't rhyme... stop rhyming, everybody's parents die, Inglourious Basterds, how to cut a trailer, Captain Kirk, time gem, Kingdom Come, Zack Snyder, The Fifth Element, periodic highs, Disney villains, Michael Bay, getting the band back together, a trailer in the movie... for the next movie, DC philosophy, it's all in the script, Luc Besson, artillery hitting her shield, aimed at millennials, you got like a dozen batpeople running around, Guardians of the Galaxy and my run-in with Jared Leto.

Spoiler Alert: Full spoilers for Suicide Squad - so go watch the movie before listening. You have been warned!

"It seems like every movie, they just do what works - in that movie. And no one is considering the bigger picture."
