    #53 - A Country for Old Men

    #53 - A Country for Old Men

Pietro and Max take a look at  recent events, including Nikki Haley finally bowing out to Donald Trump in the Republican Primaries after Super Tuesday. They also look at Joe Biden’s fiery State of the Union address, and finally break down the results of the Dunkley by-election here in Australia—what it means for Labor, Liberal, and the Libertarian Party.

    #52 - Julian Assange's Last Stand

    #52 - Julian Assange's Last Stand

Pietro and Max look at the Julian Assange story on the eve of the decision in London over whether he is to be extradited to the United States. The two look at the history of the Assange saga, dating all the way back to the inception of Wikileaks in 2006 and still yet to culminate, with Assange’s fate hanging in the balance over the next few days.

The two analyse the libertarian insights to be gleaned from Assange’s story, looking at everything from the State’s tyrannical persecution of journalism, the hidden atrocities and war crimes in Iraq and Afghanistan, Trump and Hillary Clinton’s role in all this, and much more. Overwhelmingly, this is a crisis of freedom of speech, freedom of information, freedom of journalism, and is a textbook example of the ongoing battle between the rights of the State against the rights of the Individual (in this case, a hero, Julian Assange).

    #50 - Does Putin have a Point?

    #50 - Does Putin have a Point?

Pietro and Max take a look at the Vladimir Putin interview with Tucker Carlson, and break down the nuts and bolts of what was noteworthy about the circumstances and what Putin said. All of this is obviously against the backdrop of the horrific war between Ukraine and Russia which has been raging since 2022, where the Western Media has been fawning over Zelenskyy, propagandising the West on why it is absolutely vital we need to pay for the war.

They discuss many of the intricacies mentioned in the interview, including the Nordstream Pipeline, the assurances from NATO, the missiles shot in Poland, the long-standing animosity between Putin and the CIA, and much more.

The two also take a look at Dave Smith, libertarian inspiration for the show, and his dismantling of Robert F. Kennedy Junior’s campaign, by debating him on the conflict between Israel and Hamas in Gaza. Finally, the two look at a short clip of Joe Biden which continues to highlight his cognitive decline.

#49 - Chrysten Abraham - A Better Choice for Dunkley

Pietro is joined by the Libertarian Party’s candidate for the upcoming Federal by-election in the seat of Dunkley, Chrysten Abraham.

Chrysten tells the story of her journey into libertarianism and discusses some of the policies the party will be pushing for Dunkley, including removing Fuel Excise Tax, Alcohol Tax, and lowering Income Tax.

Chrysten also discusses how the seat of Dunkley is set to be hotly contested among the major parties, with both Peter Dutton and Anthony Albanese having made the trip down to campaign for the Liberal and Labor candidates.

#48 - Scomo: The War Evangelist

#48 - Scomo: The War Evangelist

Pietro and Floyd take a look at Scott Morrison’s recent resignation from Federal Parliament, and his new job as a warmonger, jumping immediately into the Military Industrial Complex (despite being an Evangelical Christian). They also reminisce over some of Scomo’s worst moments, such as his weak opposition to vaccine mandates and his escape to Hawaii during the bushfire crisis.

They also discuss the recent New Hampshire Republican Primary results which saw Donald Trump beat Nikki Haley, and speculate about what this could mean for the US Presidential election later this year—whether Trump is allowed to run, whether Joe Biden will be his opponent (or potentially someone like Michelle Obama, or Gavin Newsom), and all the other variables which seem to be up in the air at the moment.

#47 - Everything Wrong with Democracy

#47 - Everything Wrong with Democracy

Another educational episode in the series of “Everything Wrong with…” Pietro and Max tackle Democracy and its many shortfalls.

They discuss many of the problems with Democracy, many of the ways it infringes on individual rights and libertarian philosophy.

They also explore some of the perverse incentives which are created with this system of ruling, and compare to other authoritarian systems of the past, such as dictators, monarchies, and communists.

In the end, some alternatives to the problems of our current Democratic system are explored, such as anarcho-capitalism or minarchism (or minarchist democracy).

#45 - 2023 End of Year Liberty Review

#45 - 2023 End of Year Liberty Review

Pietro and Max look back on 2023 and give the wins, losses, and draws of the year from a libertarian perspective.

They talk about wars, both Palestine-Israel and Ukraine-Russia, they talk about the US Presidential election which is coming up in 2024 (and their thoughts on Trump, Ramaswamy and more).

Among the topics are also inflation, the Libertarian party in Australia (as well as the one in the US), and electoral wins that libertarians had this year (including Javier Milei, John Ruddick, and ACT in New Zealand).

#44 - Could Dan Andrews Replace Albo?

#44 - Could Dan Andrews Replace Albo?

Pietro and Floyd look at the recent rumours around Dan Andrews potentially running for the Federal seat of Dunkley, following Labor's Peta Murphy passing away. The rumours suggest Dan could be vying for eventually running for Prime Minister given Anthony Albanese's lacklustre first year in office. They also take a look at what this could mean for the Libertarian Party in Australia.

Next they discuss the recent ruling by the Colorado Supreme Court in the US, which bans Donald Trump from appearing on the ballot in their state at the next presidential election. They look at many of the possible outcomes of this, including what it means for Joe Biden, whether this could affect Vivek Ramaswami, and they examine at US libertarian Spike Cohen's thoughts on the matter.

#43 - Rukshan Fernando - Finding Truth in Modern Media

Pietro is joined this week by Rukshan Fernando (previously known as 'Real Rukshan'). Rukshan is a wedding photographer who burst to fame in the journalism world in 2020 for his on-the-ground coverage of the COVID pandemic management, and the large protests against lockdowns and vaccine mandates which occurred in Victoria. Since then Rukshan has added filmmaker and political commentator to his list of monikers, and continues to provide live, raw, unedited footage of protests and political events.

The two discuss Rukshan's experiences, both personal and professional, during the pandemic and beyond. They talk about everything from Victoria Police, to Dan Andrews, to the corruption within the media, to Rukshan's haters and detractors, plus much more.

#42 - The New Republican Battleground

#42 - The New Republican Battleground

Pietro and Max take a look at the recent Republican Primary debate in Alabama for the US Presidential Election. They focus especially on how well Vivek Ramaswami is doing in the debates, and how unrelenting he's been in his attacks against the neo-cons (Nikki Hayley and Chris Christie).

They also discuss the election more broadly, whether the Democrats will run Joe Biden or try to replace him with Gavin Newsom, Newsom's weird debate with Ron DeSantis, where Donald Trump fits into all of this, and more.

#41 - John Ruddick MLC - Javier Milei and Anarcho-Capitalism

Pietro is joined by Libertarian Party member of Parliament in NSW, John Ruddick. The two discuss all things Javier Milei following his recent success in becoming elected as President of Argentina.

They delve into Milei's anarcho-capitalist ideological roots, his no-holds-barred, take-no-prisoners style of libertarian messaging, and his plans to end the stranglehold of Central Banks and dollarise the Argentinian economy.

They also talk about what Milei's win can mean for the cause of liberty in Australia and the USA, and whether his win can translate into success for countries which are yet to hit the skyrocketing inflation rates of Argentina.

#38 - Artificial Intelligence and the Surveillance State

#38 - Artificial Intelligence and the Surveillance State

Pietro and Floyd discuss the recent agreement between the USA and Australia, through Joe Biden meeting with Anthony Albanese) to regulate Artificial Intelligence. They look at some of the worrying possibilities this might create for a surveillance state, and compare the way government attempts to co-opt new technologies (such as digital currencies) to further control its people.

They also look at the Ukraine and Russia war, at how Ukraine is likely to lose, and how the corporate media narrative is changing.

Finally they discuss the recent US Republican Primary election debate in Miami, and how Vivek Ramaswami wipes the floor with his war-hungry, neo-con opponents, especially Nikki Haley.

    #37 - Max's Mexican Misadventures

    #37 - Max's Mexican Misadventures

Max returns from his overseas travels and in something a little different, he's interviewed by Pietro about his travels abroad. They look through a libertarian lens at everywhere Max has been - Los Angeles (California), Mexico, Guatemala (almost) - and Max has some truly interesting stories to tell.

The climax of Max's adventure lands him in the center of a Mexican annual street protest over the Tlatelolco Massacre of 1968, which is a story not to be missed. As always, there are various tangents of discussion, including complaints about Gavin Newsom, Kevin Rudd, Scott Morrison, and fan favourite: Dan Andrews.

Pietro is joined by Ethelyn King, Libertarian Party candidate for the upcoming Mulgrave by-election, where she hopes to take Dan Andrews' former seat.

Ethelyn tells her story of how she became first a libertarian during the COVID lockdown period, and her disapproval of the omnibus bill, as well as outlines her plans for remedying the damage that the State government is unleashing.

They also talk about some specific policy areas, including cost-of-living, education reform, voluntary voting, and even touch on nuclear energy.

#34 - Australia Rejects the Voice

#34 - Australia Rejects the Voice

Pietro and Floyd break down a big week of news. First the Indigenous Voice to Parliament was rejected here in Australia with a resounding win to the No Vote campaign. They discuss Marcia Langton and the Yes vote campaign, how the woke lefty brigade will cope with this setback, and how we will undoubtedly be hearing lots more about racism, misinformation and disinformation in the coming weeks.

They then break down the New Zealand election, the ACT party's success, the repudiation of the Labour party (as well as everything Jacinta Ardern did), and what this means for libertarianism.

Then they have a look at the conflict between Israel and Palestine, some of the horrible takes by people such as Robert F. Kennedy Junior, and how US is already starting to beat the drums of war to the tune of the Military Industrial Complex.

#32 - Dan is Gone (but it doesn't change anything)

Pietro and Floyd celebrate the end of Dan Andrews' reign as tyrant of Victoria. They talk about Dan's rule, Dan's successor, and why Dan resigning isn't actually a victory for liberty. They also look at recent developments in the Indigenous Voice to Parliament's "yes" and "no" campaigns.
