Lisa Napoli’s new book, Susan, Linda, Nina & Cokie is the story of the “founding mothers” of NPR – Susan Stamberg, Linda Wertheimer, Nina Totenberg, and Cokie Roberts – wrapped around the emergence of public radio and second-wave feminism in the seventies. She talks about the friendship between these remarkable women, how they overcame gender barriers to become icons of their industry, and reflects on the state of journalism today.
Hello Everyone!
I am back with my biggest, and most important episode to date.
I sit down with Jaiyah Saelua, the first transgender soccer player to participate in a FIFA World Cup qualifying match.
We chat about her life growing up, her career with soccer and life after the documentary Next Goal Wins was released.
It was fascinating to hear her story, and hear about the upcoming Hollywood version of the documentary.
If you enjoy this episode half as much as I did, you will love it!
Much Love, Lyndon Suvanto
The Eric Roberts love-fest continues for Sarah and Mary in this week’s recap of Lifetime’s glorious “Stalked By My Doctor: The Return.” Mary is impressed with Dr. Eric Roberts’ personal growth as a stalker; going for the mother of his teenage love this time seems like a more effective approach. Sarah admires his culinary skills- spelling his love’s name out in pancakes is quite the touch. The girls agree that it’s not a great idea to step onto a ledge blindfolded — no matter how smitten you might be — and that faked STDs and explaining the electrochemical properties of orgasms might not be the best path to an 18-year-old’s heart.

To ieraudzīt palīdzēs raidījums “Izšķirtspēja”.

On this episode we touch on every football game played in Week 6, including the results from the all important TTT Bowl. How the officiating this season in the NFL is the equivalent to someone scratching finger nails on a chalk board and how we can help make it better. How bad the top two picks from the 2015 draft turned out and for some reason, we really dive into multiple names that people could have. And you can't forget our riveting story of a women and her product of choice. It's all fun and games here on Mind the Mess!
On today’s show, the guys talk about the new Terminator Dark Fate and The Joker trailers. Erik has some interesting theories that make Roman CONTEMPLATE HIS ENTIRE EXISTENCE! Plus some digression, you know how we do.
We are coming in hot today as we are joined with a special guest: baby Maya is making her debut on the korner as Nnekay is literally juggling all things at once: all the snaps to our very own mother of dragons (except she ain't as mad - but she will burn it down: looking at you Linda Fairstein). But first! Should Nnekay be on Jeopardy? James puts on his Dina Lohana Momager tiara to push his baby girl to the top! We talk about Wanda Sykes new comedy special on Netflix which is a great reprieve while watching Ava DuVernay's "When They See Us" - the important new series unpacking the unjust criminalization of 5 innocent Black children for the rape of a young white women in Central Park. If you had time to watch 'Game of Thrones' you have time to watch this! With Barry Jenkins setting his sights on a new film about revolutionary dancer Alvin Ailey, Nnekay breaks down who he is, and why he's so important. James circles back to the Central Park 5, and dives into the climate of New York around this time, who Linda Fairstein is who lead the prosecution and spun this web of chaotic lives that saw these children lose decades of their lives, and how she profited. Also what you can do to turn the beat around on our criminal unjustice system!
