Adam does his first live hypnosis session on YouTube inspired by the song Heavy by Linkin Park. This song was one of the last singles released before the lead singer Chester Bennington committed suicide. Adam creates a hypnosis session where time can be slowed down so that overwhelming thoughts can be processed and that the heaviness of problems takes on a whole new meaning.

This week, LaNeysha and Kate take time to dive into the state of anime in 2019. Being a weeb, a fan of anime, is popular now and despite what some Twitter trolls will say, that is absolutely a great thing. Rebecca's mom died after a car accident and her dad had a heart attack while traveling abroad. Gabi's father and stepmother were murdered in a robbery when a recently released methamphetamine addict was sent to their home to make what should've been a run-of-the-mill home repair. Rebecca and Gabi met and created Modern Loss, a multimedia platform for sharing candid stories about life after loss. Through their book, website, and live events, they're sparking powerful and unconventional conversations on grief... and beginners are most definitely welcome. This week, we're talking about how ANY moment can be a trigger for grief, the surreal feeling of being an adult orphan, and why the time for pretending to be perfect is over. Joyce discusses why support groups, such as the ones that SOSLSD have been facilitating since 1981, are so essential to help survivors with their grief and how they ultimately prevent future suicides. She also openly shares the tragedy that triggered her husband to take his own life.

In a bizarre mashup of sorts, the guys decide to each talk about 2 completely different albums at the same time, inspired by a friend and listener of the show. Tom covers the album Meteora by Linkin Park, and in normal long-winded Tom fashion, it’s full of stories form his adolescence. The album helped him through some serious family trauma as a young teen, motivated him to wear nothing but DC clothing for years, and he even performed a song for three 7th grade girls in his bedroom after an early dismissal day. But he was in 6th grade so it was totally cool.

Pat discovered his album Leaving Through the Window”by Something Corporate much later in life after having a few casual interaction in 8th grade along with Tom. One of the songs has strong ties between him and his wife, while others remind him of strolling campus alone as a bushy eyed college freshman.
