My sister I have to wonder if you are feeling like you are just about broke on a spiritual level. How many times have you hoped for, wished for, waited for and then was disappointed when your dream, goal, or desire never came to pass. Ever have those days that just feel hard. Those seasons that feel like you are being drained one breath at a time. Like you wonder if you can literally even take another step forward. Maybe it feels like lately all you have been taking are steps backwards, steps that feel exhausting and steps that feel overwhelming. My sister today I want to bring you some relief and some hope. Do you ever get the feeling that God is calling you to something, but you dismiss that feeling because you’re just a regular girl and what could he possibly need you for right? Do you deep down know that he has more for you but you wonder how you could ever prepare for what’s ahead. Do you ignore that stirring in your soul because how could he ever expect you to be the right girl for this dream. Honey, today is the day you come to understand that he IS calling you, he is asking you, he is nudging you, but ultimately he is also counting on you to respond to his promptings.

I can’t help but wonder what it is that God is organizing, implementing and aligning for you at this very moment. We know that since before time God has been busy creating all of what we know to be right now.  He envisioned you before you were born, and he’s been hard at work the whole time precisely coordinating and orchestrating your life. Here’s what I know though, this masterful orchestration, this divine coordination…doesn’t always look pretty! In fact, most of the time, what God knows to be coming together so perfectly, and so beautifully, usually looks more from our perspective to be a complete disorganized mess.

Here’s the thing about positivity…it’s really just joy showing itself on the outside of a person. So often we attach our happiness to our circumstances, our surroundings and our possessions. Things are going well, things are going our way, things are going as planned…and we are happy right! But then what happens when everything changes…when the bubble bursts, when it’s all different one day.

I wonder how your life could change if you took a new approach to this day of life. I wonder if a radical transformation could occur simply by adjusting a few things in your daily routine. Don't let the title of this episode gross you out too badly...trust me there is a great lesson here! Wouldn’t you agree that it is so easy to get caught up worrying, wondering and waiting. Ever find yourself anxious over what might happen next, over what is coming up, and what may become an issue in the future. We all do that, don't we? How often do you become bitter or resentful because something in your day didn’t come to pass as you had planned? Hey it happens to everyone, and sometimes we need a little reminder to not waste too much of today worrying about tomorrow.

One thing I know is that you have, or will have tragedy of your own. A story that ends in a way that you never would have written. A plot twist or a cliff hanger that ended in a way you don’t like or would never choose. So what happens now? What happens when we lose someone too soon? What happens when the job we depended on disappears, what happens when the relationship we worked so hard to save ends…what happens when the illness isn’t going to be cured, or the accident left damage that can not be undone?

Would you consider yourself someone who is lead by your heart, feels like once something is ignited in your heart that you just have to pursue it? I will admit that many times in my life I ended up in a place that was all sorts of wrong because I fully believed that my heart led me there: bad relationships, projects I eventually abandoned, unnecessary purchases, impulsive decisions. I feel like in each case I had a sense of confusion after…how could something that felt so right in the moment lead me somewhere so wrong in the end. Have you been there too?

We often question God as to why he doesn’t reveal to us what is coming next. Why won’t he simply show us what comes after this struggle? Why withhold what is to come next? It actually seems quite cruel right? You might be in a lowest of low season right now…God knows exactly how this will turn out…so why on earth wouldn’t he show you what’s ahead…girl for this we require a mindset shift...buckle in because we are going for a little ride into the promises of your future!

There is so much chatter in our world today about body image, body confidence and body shaming, and identity, gender stereotypes, and my body my choice, and on and on I could go…and my sister I won’t say that any of it is right or wrong, but what I will say is that all of it is from a very world focused place. A movement to which people are seeing themselves in a very individual light, and forgetting that we belong to something much much bigger, the body of Christ.

I want you to think about yourself and the image that you project to the world around you? Who are you on the daily when present to those around you…who are you in your home, around your loved ones, on your own? Do you like the image you are having now? Are you feeling like a fraud, an imposter, or maybe someone completely different from who you know you really are deep inside?  Are you masking who God has truly made you to be in an attempt to be accepted, admired or valued?
