Meet Eddie Downey with Downey Family Farms

Meet Eddie Downey with Downey Family Farms

Their journey started in 2016, when they purchased their small farm in rural Maryland, 30 minutes northwest of Baltimore. In 2019 they added their first registered Texas longhorn cow, and from that moment they were hooked. In 2022 they were fortunate enough to enter into a partnership on one of the greatest up-and-coming bulls in the industry, Hubbell's Jeremiah 29:11. They know Jeremiah is going to vault their program to the next level, as they continue to pursue our goals of creating a more perfect animal.

Meet Shawn Tobin with Tobin Cattle Company

Meet Shawn Tobin with Tobin Cattle Company

Shawn and Ellen started Tobin Longhorn Cattle Company in 2020 with the purchase of three heifers, one cow with calf at side, and a bull. With each passing year, they are continuing to grow. They have recently started taking genetic samples from the herd, and combining that with weights and measurements of each animal. They are hoping to produce animals that put the pounds on easily, that are feed efficient, with a tenderness to rival any breed of cattle, while not losing the characteristics of the Texas Longhorn that has made itself such a unique breed.

    Meet Lady Lillian's Longhorn Ranch

    Meet Lady Lillian's Longhorn Ranch

Lady Lillian’s Longhorn Ranch was established in 2009 when the family began selling lean, grass fed, longhorn beef. The family’s love for longhorns spans 3 generations prior and have been a part of the daily atmosphere here since the 90s. The history of Longhorns is the heart of our operation and we are working to grow genetics and demeanors that continue to add to the heritage of our ranch as well as the Longhorn industry.

Meet Matt Bourbon from the Bourbon Brothers

Meet Matt Bourbon from the Bourbon Brothers

Raising Registered Texas Longhorns was a pipe dream we thought was just out of reach for us. We would talk about owning a big longhorn farm as we lived on .2 acre in a neighborhood house in the suburbs. In 2021 we finally decide it was time to give it a shot. We built our house, grew our family by 2 boys and took a chance on making our dream a reality. We couldn’t be more excited to join the longhorn community.

Meet McKenzie Rienhardt with Rienhardt Ranch & Why-Am-I Cattle Co.

Rienhardt Ranch & Why-Am-I Cattle Co. was established in the summer of 2021 when the family decided they would like to pursue cattle again. The foundation herd started with four animals from Gainesville, Texas, and has been continuously expanding since. A family affair, each family member has played a significant role in the success of the ranch. Whether it be traveling, physical labor, running social media platforms, or fielding inquiries - they have loved working together to accomplish goals the family created.

Meet Keith and Jane Morgan with Arroyo Blanco Ranch

Meet Keith and Jane Morgan with Arroyo Blanco Ranch
Nestled in the heart of the Texas Hill Country, Arroyo Blanco Ranch was established in 2015. We are fortunate to have the opportunity to be stewards of this land and we seek to honor the heritage of those who lived and worked to build and preserve it. Longhorn cattle are a fundamental piece of that heritage. We acquired our first registered longhorn cows in 2019 and haven’t looked back since then! We seek to breed longhorn cattle with great dispositions, twisty horns and solid frames – hardy, gentle cattle that preserve a link to our history and look forward to the future. Come visit us to learn more about our herd.

Meet Jenna & Ronnie Petty from RP3 Cattle Company

Meet Jenna & Ronnie Petty from RP3 Cattle Company

The idea of RP3 Cattle Co started when I purchased the property to build a house and raise my two boys on open land outside of a traditional neighborhood. My goal for the business even though it's part time and more of a hobby is to breed the best conformationally correct Texas longhorn we can. Yes, we want the “Long” Horns but we also want the animal to be correct and serve a purpose that is growing good healthy grass-fed beef! Teaching our kids to get out and see how this works and having room to roam makes its all worth it to me even if we never make a dime!
