Season Finale // Part 2 with Ishmel Sahid

Season Finale // Part 2 with Ishmel Sahid
In this week’s episode of Datemare with Hayley Marie Norman, Hayley announces that she’s hanging up her headphones, at least for now. Even though she’s been hailed as “the smoothest host there ever was, effortlessly engaging, flawlessly gorgeous, and definitely not the one writing this”, she has chosen to put the pause in p(ause)dcast.

Hayley is very proud that she took a topic that could have made her sad and jaded but instead turned it in to laughs and thoughtful dialogue. She built something from the ground up and brought it to the world using one of the attributes she’s most proud of her, her vulnerability.

We’re calling this the end of season 1, which feels wonderfully open-ended in a “one day at a time” way, meaning there is always opportunity for things like picking it back up, releasing special one-off episodes, or pivoting in any way she finds inspiring. Stay tuned in and subscribed so you don’t miss a thing.

On this special Season Finale/ Part Two with Ishmael Sahid (Freevee’s Jury Duty), they continue to chat about dating trends and easy breezy things like how childhood traumas can dictate your attachment style. Ishmael has a “hypothetical friend” with an upcoming hike date, the most controversial date of all.

Now y’all be careful out there ‘cuz these dates just keep datemaring.

Dating Is Like Succession with Kevin T. Porter

Dating Is Like Succession with Kevin T. Porter
We're comin' in hot for you on this week's episode of Datemare with Hayley Marie Norman. We are joined by the one and only Kevin T. Porter (Gilmore Guys, Good Christian Fun) who is hilarious and insightful with his dating do's and don'ts.

The two talk love languages, pheromones, and even pull out their phones to compare dating profiles! Spoiler alert: Kevin has the best Hinge voice prompt of all time. And Hayley is very confident about hers. Like if you're not swiping right on her, what are you even doing with your life?!

They question whether an emphasis on shared taste can be a detriment to true compatibility. However, they take deeper dives in to more controversial differences like age and height.

Hayley has literally no interest in being friends with someone it didn't work out with (she's already v popular, thankyouverymuch) while Kevin got three texts from a 2018 Hinge date turned friend just in the time we were recording. They are also adamant that ghosting is trash and we need to have a rise up in 2023 culture where all who do this are banned to the Loser Ghost Island.

Also, like the episode title suggests, Kevin drops the mic on explaining how dating is essentially the hit HBO show Succession.

Now y'all be careful out there 'cuz these dates just keep datemaring.

    Platonic with Malcolm Barrett

    Platonic with Malcolm Barrett
On this week's episode of Datemare with Hayley Marie Norman, we welcome Hayley's dear friend of thirteen years, Malcolm Barrett (Amazon's The Boys, BET+'s Average Joe)! He's not only one of Hayley's favorite people, he's also her FIRST MALE GUEST ON THE POD! *Cue Jamaican air horns*

The two pontificate on the age-old question, can men and women really just be friends?!

They have an interesting conversation about a topic that plagues all single people: is that person not texting you back right away 'cuz they're busy...or do they just not give a shit about you? And how do you know the difference?

Hayley discusses the awkard moment at the end of a Hinge date when the guy confessed he'd had a crush on her as a fan for the last decade. And because this podcast follows her dating-after-divorce journey, she talks about the dudes she discovered had been waiting out her marriage to slide into her DMs. Malcolm shares some random awkward dating shit he did that you'll just have to listen to to understand. I guess it involves face blindness??? I can't possibly sum it up here.

The two also swap anectodotes about their careers in Hollywood.

Pls listen/subscribe and review the podcast!

    The Basics with Kiki Andersen

    The Basics with Kiki Andersen
On this week's episode of Datemare with Hayley Marie Norman, Hayley is joined by Emmy award-winning news reporter turned comedian Kiki Andersen!

The girls share their thoughts on some of the basics of dating like pretending to reach for your wallet, who's asking who out, and sleeping together on a first date. Chivalry ain't dead and we love that for us! Kiki opens up about the unique journey of how being a female comic has been a huge turn off to a lot of men, while being a reporter was a huge turn on. Kiki shares her worst dating stories which involve secret wives and ENM (ethical non-monogomy) fails. Hayley shares the insane dating story of the time she got played by an ex on Venmo.

Between the funny, Hayley leans in to her emo side and shares that she's preparing for a major surgery and what that experience has been like as a single person. Cue Hello Darkness My Old Friend* (But don't fret, she's since had a succesful surgery and is feeling more like herself every day!)

Tell Your Daddy with Rachel True

Tell Your Daddy with Rachel True
After a three week hiatus, Datemare with Hayley Marie Norman is back! We are joined by the legend that is Rachel True (Half Baked, The Craft, author of True Heart Intuitive Tarot).

    The ladies discuss SO much!

Hayley talks about her mission to make being a cat lady sexy. The ladies share their personal ups and downs of being black women in Hollywood. Hayley and Rachel discover they're both charismatic people who aren't sociopaths. When they dive into dating, Hayley surmises that Rachel's soulmate is in Europe. Rachel shares her worst dating stories including one involving a magician. Rachel, a proud Gen X'er, jokes about P.E. coaches from Pacoima sliding into her DM's. She did however just join Tik Tok and would like you to tell your daddy that's she here. Meanwhile, Hayley shares a bunch of thoughts she no longer stands by (lol). After all, this show does follow her ever changing thoughts on her search for love and this episode was recorded a few weeks ago. Most importantly, Hayley would like to clarify that she *is* actually a snob when it comes to a potential parter having luxury lifestyle essentials. It's called Parachute, honey. Look it up. Dial soap? More like Bye-Bye'l soap.
Hayley also opens the show by stating that she's "actually really grateful" she's single during this time. That is complete insanity and she has no idea why she'd ever say that.

The girls also share something scandalous; Hayley has shared Adrien's sloppy seconds.

From Southern Belle to Mrs. Cartel with Donna Thomas
What, you don’t all have a friend who unknowingly married someone in the cartel and discovered they had millions of dollars of cash buried under their floor? Hmm..you gotta get some more interesting friends.

Donna Thomas, sweet tea in hand, joins us in the States after returning from an epic adventure as a solo female traveler in Korea! We don’t need husbands to take a vacay, hotties! Donna claims her “Year of Resurgence” after having dealt with depression as a result of her mother’s death.

Hayley and Donna discuss the moment they discovered they were “Snow Sisters”- a term that refers to women who have slept with the same man. Were we dating him at the same time??? The timeline is fuzzy but prolly.

And finally…. Donna shares her true, harrowing, and edge-of-your-seat story of having unknowingly married someone who was the head of the cartel. A real Southern Belle to Mrs. Cartel, you won’t believe your ears of this incredible tale of survival!

Licened psychotherapist Lisa Oxman joins us and drops gems of free relationship counseling.
She also shares her hilarious tale of dating and getting dumped by an A List celebrity whose name rhymes with Smorge Looney. Hayley shares about having dated a famous rapper only to find out on Twitter that he was cheating on her with an infamously famous actress.

The ladies dive into breaking down big subjects around dating like gaslighting, attachment styles, shame, PTSD, narcissism, surviving abusive relationships, and more.

Main Character Energy with Chelsea Devantez

Main Character Energy with Chelsea Devantez
On this week’s episode, we welcome guest Chelsea Devantez (head writer for The Problem with Jon Stewart, ABC's Not Dead Yet, Celebrity Book Club with Chelsea Devantez) just in time for her birthday! Whoo hoo!

Dating is difficult but Chelsea and I discuss how to harness your main character energy to make it actually enjoyable and an excuse to not be a pajama woman. We talk about why NOT to have dinner on a first date and invent an unfortunately necessary nervous system game called, “Red Flag or Fate?”

Datemare with Hayley Marie Norman is for those partnered *and* not partnered, but I especially hope this episode gives our single listeners hope, self-esteem, worth, and even tools to help make the process of finding love a little less awful.

    Coming Out With Sara Benincasa

    Coming Out With Sara Benincasa
Clutch your pearls 'cuz on this episode, Hayley comes out as bi and Sara comes out as not a natural redhead.

The ladies give our listeners tips for getting accepted on to the exclusive dating app Raya (while admitting to being elitist Hollywood trash in the process), and discuss threesomes, porn and even barber-surgeons. Hayley opens up about having her sexuality weaponized against her as a black actress in Hollywood.

    EP161: The Grim Sleeper

    EP161: The Grim Sleeper
South Central Los Angeles in the late 1980s was a terrible place to be. The area was rampant with crime, drugs, and a struggle to survive. Many women turned to sex work to either help feed their addiction or to feed their families. As many of you know, police tended to turn a blind eye when dead sex workers were found, and they had an attitude like the victims were disposable. Because of this attitude, serial killers often made South Central L.A. their hunting grounds, and Lonnie Franklin, Jr. was one of them. Nicknamed "The Grim Sleeper" due to the extended supposed break he took in killing--Lonnie's true victim count will never be known.

    EP157: Jane Doe #59

    EP157: Jane Doe #59
The body of a young woman was found on November 16, 1969, off Mulholland Drive in Los Angeles, California, only a few short miles from where The Manson Family had murdered several people that summer. The woman had no ID and no significant identifying marks, and while the Los Angeles Police Department tried to discover her identity, they were unsuccessful. The woman was given the moniker Jane Doe 59. Jane Doe 59 and another woman, Marina Habe, whose body was found in January 1969, would be cold cases for the LAPD and would cause them to wonder if they were victims of The Manson Family or had met their ends via some other violent means. Listen to this week’s episode to hear more about these two cases and whether Jane Doe 59’s identity was ever made.
