Ep. 39 Made for Bliss w/ Brian "Head" Welch

Ep. 39 Made for Bliss w/ Brian "Head" Welch

Join this chill and silly conversation with Audrey and Brian "Head" Welch, who is the lead guitarist, in the iconic rock band Korn and Lead vocalist and guitarist of Love & Death. They talk about the effects of depression and drug addiction on their lives before knowing the blissful presence and love of Jesus. Brian vulnerably shares his faith journey and about the ups and downs that life has thrown at him but most importantly how God always turns it to good.
You will love this episode because even though they talk about some serious things, Audrey unintentionally asks some silly questions and out of all the interviews she has done, this is the one where her camera decides to put black spots on her face and freezes often but its great because Brian just balances the awkwardness with making silly faces and saying funny phrases! So Tune in for a unique blend of deep conversation and unexpected hilarity in this must-hear episode!

Brian "Head" Welch of Love and Death

Brian "Head" Welch of Love and Death
The guys talk with Nu metal legend Brian "Head" Welch about the band's upcoming release! In 1993, a group of guys from Bakersfield California formed a band that would inevitably become legendary. Co-founded by Brian, Korn would be the first of many to bring the Nu metal genre to the main stage. The band would eventually sell over 40 million albums and tour the world extensively. Their meteoric rise to fame did not come without many physical, emotional and spiritual wounds. In 2005, Brian gave his life to Christ and left the band. Leaving Korn afforded Brian the chance to grow in his new faith journey. Today, Brian with his band Love And Death are reinventing the genre and holding nothing back. On February 12th, Love and Death will be streaming their album release concert in support of the new album, Perfectly Preserved. Tickets for the event can be purchased at https://loveanddeath.veeps.com/stream/schedule. Well, it threw Alex and Sean into online teaching and moscato. Amy was on study leave. Now as Semester Two hits, Amy's joining them on the frontlines, but swapping out the moscato for a nice Clare riesling or a McLaren Vale grenache. What tips can the boys offer? How do you convert a curriculum from face-to-face Socratic teaching to the chat rooms and vids of the interwebs? What are the pitfalls? And what are the unexpected benefits? Pop a cork on your wine of choice and get ready for some truth bombs from three dedicated educators in the age of Zoom.
