MUV music and digital art festival FIRENZE italy 1-5 GIUGNO 2011www.firenzemuv.com MACEO PLEX aka MAETRIX (ES) MIX 2011 Il produttore Maceo Plex attualmente di stanza a Valencia, ha pubblicato l'album "Life Index" su Crosstown Rebels, l'etichetta di Damian Lazarus. Proviene da Miami e ha vissuto anche a Dallas per un certo periodo. A Miami, negli anni Ottanta, l'electro-bass e la new wave erano entrambi davvero popolari. Maceo è cresciuto ascoltando questi due generi fino a quando non è stato folgorato dall'album "Clear" di Cybotron e altri classici della techno di Detroit. "L'ho amato, ma ho cominciato a fare il dj solo quando mi sono trasferito a Dallas nel 1991, dove ascoltavo uno show radiofonico davvero cool che passava questo tipo di musica". È cresciuto con electro-bass, hip hop, freestyle, salsa, new wave... tutto quello che un bambino cubano può ascoltare a Miami! Ma a Dallas le cose sono cambiate dopo che ha comprato i suoi primi piatti 1200.
