    Suzume no Tojimari すずめの戸締ま==>Las puertas del desastre: La conexión entre el pasado, el presente y el futuro
    Suzume no Tojimari gira en torno a las puertas del desastre, unas misteriosas puertas que aparecen en lugares abandonados y que conducen a un mundo paralelo lleno de peligros. Estas puertas son el origen de los terremotos y las catástrofes que amenazan a Japón, y también el motivo por el que Suzume y Souta emprenden su viaje. Pero ¿qué significan estas puertas? ¿Qué hay detrás de ellas? ¿Qué relación tienen con los personajes?Las puertas del desastre son un símbolo de la conexión entre el pasado, el presente y el futuro. Por un lado, representan el pasado, pues aparecen en lugares donde hubo vida y ahora solo hay ruinas. Son una muestra de lo que fue y ya no es, de lo que se perdió y se olvidó. Por otro lado, representan el presente, pues son una amenaza para la sociedad actual, que vive bajo el riesgo constante de un desastre natural. Son una advertencia de lo que puede pasar si no se cuida el medio ambiente y se respeta la naturaleza. Por último, representan el futuro, pues son una oportunidad para cambiar las cosas, para cerrar lo que se debe cerrar y abrir lo que se debe abrir. Son una esperanza de lo que puede ser si se actúa con valentía y determinación.Las puertas del desastre son un elemento clave para la trama y el mensaje de la película. Son las que ponen en marcha la historia, las que motivan a los personajes y las que les hacen crecer. Son las que nos hacen reflexionar sobre nuestra relación con el mundo y con nosotros mismos. Son las que nos hacen soñar con un mundo más allá de las puertas.

    2.7 | MAKOTO FUJIMURA { culture care }

    2.7 | MAKOTO FUJIMURA { culture care }

    Artist & author Makoto Fujimura illuminates the relationship between faith & art like no other person I've met. His artwork (based on an ancient Japanese painting style called Nihonga) has been featured in contemporary art galleries around the world, in places like Chelsea New York, Haifa Israel, & Hong Kong.

    While "Mako" has one step in the art world, he has his other foot in the Church, speaking life into Her artists, adding color a black-&-white world of religion that has been stripped of beauty & visual theology. He especially has a sensitive heart for artists in the Church, who often feel used, misunderstood, & ultimately exiled. His passion for curating a "theology of making" has landed him a role at Fuller Seminary as the Director of Culture Care Initiative at the Brehm Center.

    Mako is back on the ILLUMINATE podcast to talk about the concept & practice of "Culture Care", something I believe both the Church & the culture at large so desperately needs in these divisive times.

    2.3 | MAKOTO FUJIMURA, KEIKO & OSAMU YANAKA { the liturgy of tea }

    The practice of tea ceremonies is an ancient liturgy that dates back many centuries. More than a simple drink, tea has been used to welcome dignitaries, stop wars, & cloak Christians celebrating Communion in secret.

    In June 2018, I joined illuminator Makoto Fujimura & a group of artists for a unique trip to Israel-Palestine. Our main objective was to perform Rikyū tea ceremonies in key "holy sites" throughout the Holy Land, bringing a spirit of peace & Shalom to this very conflicted land.

    Joining Mako is Japanese Tea Master-Apprentice Keiko Yanaka & her husband, Osamu.
