Daniel Artest: "Da Guardian" (Brother of Metta World Peace)

Daniel Artest: "Da Guardian" (Brother of Metta World Peace)

Ron Artest once said that his brother could have easily played in the NBA. His game was unique to say the least. Standing at a generous 6’4’’, the 265 pounder played the Center/Forward spot effectively with his high basketball IQ, explosive vertical leap, and 7’3’ wingspan. He was a self-taught basketball player who has earned the respect from hoopers and recieved the nickname "Da Guardian". We always heard about the stories, so we went ahead and tracked down Daniel Artest to learn from the man himself.

Artest never played a minute of High School basketball, only AAU where he played with former number one player in the nation, Lenny Cooke. He went the Junior College route where he earned an opportunity to play overseas and even cracked an NBA Summer League team with the Sacramento Kings. Daniel could flat out HOOP and there are plenty of stories here about playing at the Rucker tournaments, working out with the Pacers, Malice at the Palace, NBA Summer League, Overseas, all the famous hip hop artists he grew up with, and MUCH more.

We loved our time with Daniel and we can’t thank him enough for all of the knowledge, laughs, and time he shared with us. He also has his own Podcast so be sure to check it out if you love Daniel as much as we did! He is continuing to make a name for himself and we can guarantee that big things lie ahead.

    Thank you Daniel Artest!

What Does The Bible Say About Human Discord

What Does The Bible Say About Human Discord

In this episode, Arnie and Fred discuss the hostility among people that seems to surround us. Malice - among nations, between ethnicities, against other races, toward different political or religious views, of one person against another. Why is that? When it doesn't have to be this way. We discuss New Testament cases of animosity resulting in violent persecution and the fact that God has no racial, ethnic or gender partiality. We note that Christ's Gospel removes prejudice and strife when obeyed. Finally, we discuss some things we need to remember. Take about 30 minutes to listen in on our discussion. We encourage you to have your bible available to make sure we use the scriptures correctly.

Are you the kind of person who takes too many things personally?  Maybe someone gives you a look or says something and you just assume:  they are mad at me.  Well, there is a much better and more peaceable way to live you life.  In fact, with just a few adjustments in your thinking you can see all of your relationships improve.  The key is in a philosophical statement called "Hanlon's Razor."  This will help you not see problems where there are no problems and instead be more compassionate to others, instead of insulted.  It's awesome!

    - What is Hanlon's Razor

    - How to think less maliciously about the actions of others

    - Why is it important to assume ignorance and how should you respond

    - How to find greater peace and less stress in virtually all relationships!

    - How to determine if there is an actual problem in a relationship

Ephesians - 04j - Get Rid of It!

Ephesians 4:30,31 - Paul encourages us to not grieve the Holy Spirit.  Grieving the Holy Spirit is not about us hurting God, it is about a God who hurts for us. The best check of our heart is to look at our speech.  Our speech is a reflection of what is happening within our hearts.  We must be honest with ourselves in order to change our speech from the inside out.
