Japanese Flash Brew - A Great Way to Brew Coffee

Japanese Flash Brew - A Great Way to Brew Coffee

In this episode, Kenneth sits down with Marc Marquez, Director of Coffee at Savor Brands, to talk about a highly innovative way of making fresh, chilled coffees – Japanese Flash Brew. They discuss why it tastes so different, ratios, the brewing technique, and share their recipes.

Marc also provides an insight into the impact the wildfires in Hawai‘i have had on the coffee growers and processors there.

    KEY TAKEAWAYS

    • Japanese flash brew is not the same as cold brew or drip coffee.
    • It is brewed using a balance of ice and water.
    • It can take just under 4 minutes to brew.
    • Even if you use your normal beans, your flash brew is going to taste different.
    • In Hawai‘i, coffee harvests, equipment, and processing facilities have all been lost in the fires, so they need our help.

     BEST MOMENTS
‘[Japanese flash brew] is very different. ´
‘It is brewed fresh; it is brewed fast.’
    ‘There's a little math involved.’
‘It's the best way, in my opinion, to prepare iced coffee.’

MotoPG Ep 039: "His Father Was a Luber..."

MotoPG Ep 039: "His Father Was a Luber..."
The boys are on a Jack Miller inspired high after the Australian's second straight Moto GP title in Le Mans but that's just a small part of what makes MotoPG the greatest motorcycling podcast on earth. There's also Boris' Empathy Training and Cultural Awareness segment (which continues to educate listeners all over the world), Freido's Uncle Nick with the stats that matter and Tug's technical tips on how ridiculously high powered motorcycles actually work. And every now and then there's even a bit of serious analysis, just to keep things interesting. As always, none of this would be possible without our sponsors Ron Angel Wholesale (http://www.ronangel.com.au/Main.asp?_=GIVI%20MAIN) (suppliers of GIVI luggage in Australia), Suzuki (https://www.suzukimotorcycles.com.au), Held Australia (https://heldaustralia.com.au/shop/) and Velocity Vehicle Care (https://velocityvehiclecare.com). (By the way, click the link for the Original Bike Spirits Moto PG deal on EBay (https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/263766164669?hash=item3d69b044bd:g:BsAAAOSwJRxbLH9H). It's a pretty simple deal people: All these guys support us so you need to support them. We don't do deals with sponsors whose products we don't endorse and if you stick with the brands we recommend you'll not only be buying quality but you're helping keep us on air. And if you want to go that extra step, sign up for the Patreon Pit Crew (https://www.patreon.com/MotoPG) and get access to exclusive content and competitions. Only Pit Crew members get to ask the boys questions in the Hearts and Minds segment and only Pit Crew members are eligible for the amazing Held prize of a trip to Germany in 2022 to attend a MotoGP race and tour the factory. Oh, and don't forget our MotoPG website (https://motopgco.wordpress.com) and the merchandise shop (https://www.motopg.theprintbar.com) where you can buy exclusive T Shirts only other MotoPG fans will understand. It's all happening at the MotoPG podcast so stop reading this rubbish and start listening. Now.
