Guest of Honor: DaMichael Cole joins the show to discuss how the Grizzlies will recover from the Ja Morant suspension - Segment 2 - 6/26/23
We have our first three-peat guest on Cover 2! DaMichael Cole is a columnist for The Commercial Appeal in Memphis as well as a podcast host for Locked On Grizzlies. The Grizzlies have been in the news plenty lately, so the crew has a lot to talk about. DaMichael even shares a few thoughts on some of the latest in the boxing world.

The news finally came out about Ja Morant's suspension, and it's going to last a minimum of 25 games. Adam Silver had zero imagination when it came to the release of this news because it should've happened live on national television for millions of people to see. How does this suspension compare to some of the other long term suspensions the NBA has handed out? Did Adam Silver just show some signs of his mentor, David Stern? How will Memphis fair without him?

Cole and Berger close out the show by revisiting their earlier conversation about the NBA playoffs. Every series but one in the Western Conference is incredibly fun to follow. The Warriors are basically the exact same team that they were last season, but there is one glaring difference that is holding them back. Cole is very impressed with Andrew Wiggins in the playoffs. D calls in to share that St. Louis's own Jayson Tatum will in fact be leading the Celtics to a championship. Berger thinks Ja Morant's presence in the Grizzlies lineup is actually counter-productive.

Powerade unknowingly picked a really bad time to make Ja Morant the face of their business. Ja has already run into trouble earlier in the season when a member of his entourage allegedly pointed a gun at the Pacers' team bus, and now he's back in the news as he has allegedly beat up a 17-year-old and threatened him with a gun. DaMichael Cole of The Commercial Appeal in Memphis joins the show to offer some clarity on this news. He also shares his thoughts on why the Grizzlies have allowed the Nuggets to take a commanding lead in the Western Conference.
