EP. 11 - WINE AND TRUE CRIME: Why do Women Love True Crime? W. Special Guest Tanya Jaggard

EP. 11 - WINE AND TRUE CRIME: Why do Women Love True Crime? W. Special Guest Tanya Jaggard

In our eleventh episode, we have our first guest! Our friend Tanya Jaggard is a wonderful baker (@saltbutterandsunshine on IG) and an avid true crime listener. Lucky for us, she is a walking true crime encyclopedia who possesses a Bachelor of Psychology which gave her a firm foundation on the mentality of serial killers.

We dive into some popular theories and research on why women love true crime and why men do not consume true crime nearly as much as women do. We also have some crucial conversations on the impact of true crime stories on our mental health, the possibility of true crime as a feminist concept, copaganda and the lack of intersectionality in true crime media.

It’s a long one, but so worth it.

Stay tuned to the end of the episode to find out why we think we are drawn to the genre, and let us know why you are drawn (or not) to true crime.
