Episode 237: PBS #226: NEW UPDATEs: More TRAIN DERAILMENTS _ MASEO's IG Tribute to TRUGOY of DE LA SOUL + East Palestine, Valentines, & JIMETTA ROSE

February 13, 2023: For this extra-ordinary edition of PSYCHOTIC BUMP SCHOOL, DJ ROME covers aerial flying objects, a railway/environmental disaster, a singer/songwriter, + a tribute to a legendary emcee.

PART 1 : Coming out of Super Bowl weekend, DJ ROME opens this week's episode by covering a NORAD news briefing to help us to better understand how our international defenses have lately been shooting down aerial objects from the sky.

PARTS 2 DJ Rome continues with an environmental hazard emerging in East Palestine, Ohio after a train derailment and explosion that caused local citizens to evacuate - ironically similar to a recent Netflix release called "White Noise". Closing out with a rant about Valentine's Day, and a tribute to the late TRUGOY THE DOVE of DE LA SOUL who suddenly passed away over the weekend.

PART 3: California singer/songwriter JIMETTA ROSE has worked with some of the best beat-makers in the game and she stops by to chat with Rome about her career and eclectic music style rooted in hip-hop and funk.

A great episode so press PLAY and ENJOY.

    Update:

    February 23, 2023:

De La Soul Pens Tribute to Trugoy the Dove: ‘Fly Into the Light’@wearedelasoul
Verified"Dave - thank you so much for being in my life. Although you and I would argue like hell, we would both admit when we were wrong and totally come full circle and say, "I Love You." I want to truly thank you for having the birds eye view of our collective vision to be a group. Before Trugoy The Dove, I met J.D. Dove aside being called Dave in 1985. I remember your mom calling you Dove, so you've always had wings, so go on and fly into the light, Merce and I will make sure your legacy is well preserved. "We Are De La Soul" for life and after life, but obviously, it will never be the same. On one end I'm happy you no longer have to suffer the pain of your condition but on the other hand I'm extremely upset at the fact that you're not here to celebrate and enjoy what we worked and fought so hard to achieve. Unfortunately, emcees that are in groups very rarely get mentioned, you and Merce are top tier, your contribution as emcees and song writers have inspired many to step up there game. DAMMIT DAVE! to be writing about you in past tense is CRAZY, but at least I got to tell you a lot of this and more except for the part about being named Dove. Let me just end off by saying I am very content and more than reassured about our relationship as brothers because we discussed it thoroughly and solidified what is necessary just in case something happened to any of us, but who would've thought so soon when there was so much to live for. MY SOUL IS HURTING REALLY BAD, but I want to thank my brother @Plugwondelasoul for digging me out of my hole alongside my wife and children. To all the De La Fans, our peers, constituents and family, thank you for all of your support through this troubling time.

AMITYVILLE, ALL OF LONG ISLAND AND HIP HOP CULTURE, PLEASE STAND UP AND SALUTE THE LEGENDARY ICON TRUGOY THE DOVE, PLUG 2 AKA DAVE! YOU WILL BE EXTREMELY MISSED AND WAY TO DOPE TO EVER BE FORGOTTEN...I LOVE YOU VERY MUCH BIG BRO❤️❤️❤️"

    Interview with Chrystabell

    Interview with Chrystabell
We had the pleasure of interviewing Chrystabell over Zoom video!

exas-based, avant-garde pop artist Chrystabell shares the “Silent Scream” music video and her new album Midnight Star via Love Conquered Records. The eerie, vintage-style black and white video was written/directed by Polish filmmaker and longtime collaborator Archon.

A sci-fi fantasia assembled as a collection of episodes, Midnight Star tells the story of a beneficent being seeking to save humanity from life on a troubled Earth. Chrystabell fully transports listeners into a dimension of her own making with a collision of post-disco, synth-pop and space-age psychedelia, while her unearthly storytelling offers up tender instruction for living more ecstatically. She has released three previous tracks – the enchanting title track “Midnight Star,” the revelatory “Suicide Moonbeams” and the brightly kinetic “Breathe Into Euphoria,”

Chrystabell is a hyper-creative polymath, whose past endeavors include four acclaimed albums, sold out performances around the world, a series of musical projects with filmmaker/luminary David Lynch and a central role on Twin Peaks: The Return. Having launched her career in the late-’90s with the neo-swing band 8 1/2 Souvenirs, she first joined forces with Lynch for a song featured in his 2006 film Inland Empire, and later worked with him on her 2011 album This Train and the 2016 EP Somewhere in the Nowhere. Over the past few years, she’s undergone a full-tilt liberation of her creative spirit that finds her embracing a more potent sense of freedom.
