CAPITOL POLICE GO AFTER McCARTHY FOR TUCKER TV SCANDAL 2.22.23

CAPITOL POLICE GO AFTER McCARTHY FOR TUCKER TV SCANDAL 2.22.23

EPISODE 139: COUNTDOWN WITH KEITH OLBERMANN

A-Block (1:43) SPECIAL COMMENT: The Kevin McCarthy/Tucker Carlson Scandal has blown wide open as The Capitol Police Board meets to vote on whether or not to stop the Speaker from giving the Fox News Liar what Rep. Zoe Lofgren calls "a blueprint for bad guys on how to more successfully attack the Capitol." House Democratic leader Hakeem Jeffries convenes his caucus this afternoon to take what action it can as Jeffries calls the collusion between McCarthy and Carlson "an egregious security breach." In essence, Kevin McCarthy has STOLEN the January 6th video and handed it to Tucker Carlson, and Tucker Carlson and Fox News have already done more damage to this country than Al-Qaeda or ISIS or Atomwaffen or any other terrorist group could dream of.

We're approaching the 20th anniversary of the day Geraldo Rivera, live on Fox News Channel, gave away the position and movements of the 101st Airborne Division, and was literally escorted out of Iraq by the U.S. military. This underscores the reality that Fox News has NEVER cared about the troops, about freedoms, about America. It sells a product. The product is phony patriotism. The product is a distorted picture of America. The product is hate. The product is lies. It's time to put the manufacturers of the product, Fox "News," out of business.

B-Block (20:27) POSTSCRIPTS TO THE NEWS: Trump Georgia Grand Jury presents Hint Number 32,753; Barney Rubble's Body Double doubles down on the Red State/Blue State divorce but adds taking away voting rights for Democrats; Democrats make criminal referral on Ohio Train Disaster while Republicans hesitate to offend their corporate masters (31:20) THE WORST PERSONS IN THE WORLD: an unfortunate Washington Post headline, a really dumb Oklahoma congressman, and a really disturbing Alaska state legislator who believes if an abused child is killed, "it's actually a benefit to society."

C-Block (31:20) THINGS I PROMISED NOT TO TELL: When I talk about Fox and its core value - evil - I'm not just repeating what I've heard. I was once fired, personally, by Rupert Murdoch, for telling the truth, and my bosses got dragged for it as well.

Ryan Anderson: Pro-Life Lessons Learned from 2022 Election

Ryan Anderson: Pro-Life Lessons Learned from 2022 Election

The 2022 election was certainly disappointing—especially for the cause of life, as we saw pro-abortion ballot initiatives pass while pro-life ones failed.

But there were bright spots—and we can learn important lessons from them.

In Ohio, Governor Mike DeWine won by 25 points after signing a heartbeat law. In Florida, Governor Ron DeSantis won by 19 points after signing a pain-capable law. Senator Marco Rubio was re-elected by 16 points after expressing strong support for a federal pain-capable law. Governors Brian Kemp in Georgia and Greg Abbott in Texas both won decisive victories after signing heartbeat laws.

When pro-lifers highlight how extreme the pro-abortion Left is, pro-lifers win.

As we head into the 2024 contest, we need to persuade our neighbors about the dignity of the life in the womb, and we need candidates who pledge to protect life at both the state and federal levels. Most important, we need to highlight the abortion extremism of the Left.

    • Scott DiMauro, Ohio Education Association President
      • A high school social studies teacher from Worthington, Scott DiMauro was elected President of the OEA in 2019 after having served as vice president for six years. Over his 30-year career as an educator, Scott has worked to provide students the critical thinking and decision-making skills they need to be successful citizens in our democratic society. He has likewise advocated for students, educators and strong public schools at all levels of his union.

    In this episode:

"We have a chance to get the ball over the goal line and really achieve an historic win for kids in Ohio, but these next few days and week or so are going to be so critical in that effort."
    • 1:40 - "We are at a critical stage."
    • 2:40 - The shortcomings of the Senate education funding plan
What would the bipartisan, House-passed Fair School Funding Plan mean for your local district? Click here to find out.
    • 4:00 - Confronting disingenuous objections to the Fair School Funding Plan
    • 5:10 - "The Senate is doing the same thing politicians have been doing for decades, and that is coming up with essentially an arbitrary amount - You know, it's $110 more than it was four years ago; $6100 per student, as opposed to the House plan when it's fully phased in will be, on average, $7200 per student - and what we saw with the Senate plan is kind of a classic move by Ohio politicians, and that is come up with a number that's "sellable," a number that politically, we can get done, and then back in a rationale for why that number makes sense. And this hasn't worked."
    • 6:15 - Ohio House Speaker Bob Cupp's leadership on the Fair School Funding Plan
    • 6:45 - Anticipating hard negotiations in Conference Committee weighing what's best for the 90 percent of Ohio's students that attend public schools and the prioritization of privatization of Ohio's schools by some state leaders.
    • 8:45 - The role of educators and community members in advocating for the Fair School Funding Plan

SIGN THE PETITION | Tell Ohio's policymakers to fairly and fully fund public schools for Ohio's families now.

    • 9:30 - Looking to the governor for leadership
    • 11:30 - Other big education issues Ohioans should be focused on: State takeovers, testing reduction, and reforming the state report card system.
    • 13:00 - Honesty in education: "People that are looking to divert attention away from critical issues like fully and fairly funding our schools instead are looking at opportunities to exploit fear and foment division by advancing bills - and we've seen two that received sponsor testimony yesterday in Ohio, but there's a number of states across the country - bills that, in one way or another, would ban the teaching of 'divisive issues' and content related to race. We find that very, very disturbing."
    • 14:15 - Teaching students to be good critical thinkers and problem solvers by teaching students the whole truth about our country.
    • 15:55 - "We have an obligation to stand up for our students, for what they need and deserve; we have an obligation to stand up for our members - educators and their academic freedom, and respecting their professionalism - and also standing up for local control of curriculum."
    • 17:50 - A social studies teacher's perspective: "You've got to dig a little deeper than the 'George Washington and the cherry tree' understanding of history to really understand the good, the bad, and the ugly, because if we don't understand the problems we face as a nation, how can we ever get better?"
    • 19:30 - Coming out of a year of education amid a global pandemic, OEA is emphasizing the importance of a summer of fun

#012 - COVID-19, Coronavirus: To Fear or Not To Fear?

#012 - COVID-19, Coronavirus: To Fear or Not To Fear?

In just a short time, lives around the world have been changed drastically as a result of COVID-19, or Coronavirus. In the U.S., schools are closed, the stock market had record losses, countless employees are either working from home or told not to report to work, groceries have been stripped from the shelves, and transportation is coming to a halt. Even churches are closing their doors on Sunday and opting for live-streaming services.

We are quickly reminded that the things we thought were secure just days ago are now ever-changing. Our normal lives are now anxiety-ridden and fear is around every corner. What is coming and what should we do about it?

I've been reading and watching online advice from some of my favorite pastors, Rick Warren, Max Lucado, and Greg Laurie.  They have given some great insight into our dilemma and I wanted to share a recap with you all to provide some encouragement and hope.

If you find this helpful in any way, would you do me a favor and share it with those you love?  Let's pray that God will bring a quick end to this situation.  Thank you!
