Welcome Back Babe 👋🏻  Life throws everything at us, some good and some not so good.

My husband always said the the light at the end of the tunnel opens up to a beautiful scene - but I said, It was the light from the oncoming train. 

• Can you see the different mindsets? 

After some soul searching, deep diving and lots of therapy sessions I learned that i'm still a work on progress & i'm doing an amazing job. Everyone's dream looks very different and out progress never is the same - so stop comparing yourself to others. 

2023 was about more confidence, embracing my sassy and sexier self because I deserve it. The journey has been tough and others needs to see that with hard work - you too can achieve your goals.  Be that lighthouse of hope ❤️

Welcome Back Babe 👋🏻  So my birthday is coming up and for me it's just another day. 

My family gets so mad at me because I really and not so big on birthdays. My birthday always meant going back to school and receiving sh*tting school presents like school supplies and clothing. You know what everyone gets anyways... Yeah a trapper keeper! 

So now being married, Geo tries to make it special and we like to travel around my birthday. But for some reason this year I've got a zillion things to do before we leave.

I know things will all work out but right now - my head is swirling. Who can relate?

In life and relationships, your feelings can help you or hurt you. Having a purpose means moving forward despite your feelings and embracing the suck.

On this podcast episode I interview Pastor Rocky Vasquez. Rocky grew up on the lower west side of Chicago in a historic community named Pilsen.  Around the age of nine he begins to ask his mom about his dad, "Who is he? Where is he?" He sees his friends spending time with their fathers and internally he desired to connect with his dad. He begins looking for love, looking to be accepted, looking for his identity and eventually this leads him towards the gangs in the early 80's. 
His group of friends eventually become a core group which helped this particular gang expand not only in this community but also around the city of Chicago, suburbs and even other states.  A life of crime, violence and imprisonment soon follow. His way of handling himself and others eventually lead him up into gang leadership.
But yet there is still a void internally inside of this man that he is unable to fill. He begins to call out to God and eventually decides he wants to turn his life around. While incarcerated he begins to draw close to God and begins to lead others to God as well. Unfortunately, upon his release he finds himself living back inside of the same neighborhood he grew up in and his friends come calling upon him for his help. He tries to hold out for about three months. But eventually he gets drawn back into the gang life. He comes to find out that "It's hard to walk away when you're a gang leader."
Tune in to hear to how eventually he couldn't outrun the calling God had upon his life. He is now leading people to the only gang that is gonna be standing at the end of the day. The biggest gang that there ever will be is "God's gang."

In Part III of our series on mission in Antigua, Guatemala, Andrew talks with Kelly Junk and her 8-year old granddaughter Margot. Kelly and Margot embody the "family" nature of the recent trip to Guatemala, where parents/grandparents and their children/grandchildren were a major feature of the mission team. Both Kelly and Margot share about how important the ministry with the Escuela Integrada is to them, as well as their sense of calling to the work of international mission.

In Part II of our series on mission in Antigua, Guatemala, Andrew sits down with Shelli Pleasant. Shelli led the family mission team to Guatemala in June 2023, and she reflects back on the many years she has traveled to do work with the Escuela Integrada in Antigua. Shelli also shares a great deal on her relationship with the Holy Spirit: "The Holy Spirit is my guide, my life, my best friend ... I depend on the Spirit for guidance in everything I do."

In Part I of our series on mission in Antigua, Guatemala, Andrew sits down with his 12-year old daughter Alice Thompson. They talk about their recent mission trip to work with the Escuela Integrada, a school that services underprivileged children in the city of Antigua. Alice shares what it was like to go on her first mission and her first trip out of the United States. She offers advice to other kids who might be thinking about going on a mission trip.

"I'm not afraid to die now because of what I experienced," Kellye said. "I want to be in that place.” On this episode of Spirit Power & Grace, Steve and Kellye Smith share with Andrew their remarkable experience of being called to mission ... and finding the Holy Spirit in the process.

On this episode of Spirit Power & Grace, Andrew talks with David Watson about the work of mission and the rhythm of repentance & revival in the Christian church. “The re-evangelization of the West is going to be a movement that begins with prayer and repentance," David says. "And when we become prayerful and repentant, we are going to see God move in power in ways that are going to blow our minds.” 

Tulane Student, Sarah Slimp, on creating her non-profit Project Adapt who's mission was to ADAPT the application of resources to the needs on the ground- helping Ukrainian refugees fleeing the conflict . Slimp traveled to Ukraine this past summer and worked to help Ukrainians gain access to food and even helped a family after a missile destroyed their home. Listen to this inspiring story on how one person's idea can impact so many. 

In this podcast episode, my wife Ann joins me as we reflect together on this past year. From what led & propelled me to start this Podcast back on October 2nd, 2022.  And sharing what the Mission & Vision is for this new year moving forward. There is a purpose that is bigger than us. There is work for us to do that will outlive us.

Hey Babe 👋🏻  How present are you in this very moment? 

Life is flying by and we are missing all the little things. Right now where I live we are going through the seasonal transition of Fall. This is one of my favorite season. Why? This is the season of releasing things that no longer serve me. And I have LOTS of things that no longer serve me. 

One of the biggest things we all go through is life is trying to achieve all our desires, RIGHT NOW. I hate to be a spoiler alert - it's not going to happen all at once. But I can tell you one things... everything takes time, even a lifetime!  Enjoy the process.

This short story deals with a delicate subject, but one that touches me to the very core. It is based in part thanks to my years in the study of Theology, but also making reference to prophecies shared by believers during time.
