Positive #16 - To Attach Oneself to Torah Scholars

Positive #16 - To Attach Oneself to Torah Scholars

In this episode, we learn positive mitzvah #16, which is to attach oneself to Torah scholars and their students, also known as talmideh chachamim.

Torah scholars and talmideh chachamim as serving as the ambassadors of Hashem in this world.

There are several ways to fulfill this mitzva:

    1. Attending their Torah classes to learn from them
    2. Inviting them to one's homes
    3. Eating meals with them
    4. Marrying into their families and marrying off one's children into their families
    5. Building personal relationships with the Rabbis and Torah scholars

A fringe benefit of spending time with talmideh chachamim is that one will also learn from their actions. The Torah provides guidelines for how to act properly and to live the best life.
When spending time with someone who diligently follows the Torah, one can learn from their example and be positively influenced by them.
