David Righting Wrongs - The Book of 2 Samuel

David Righting Wrongs - The Book of 2 Samuel

In this Bible Story, we witness the continued bravery of David even into old age. He continues to wage war against all who would threaten the followers of God. As a result, David becomes weary, but doesn't lose hope in the Lord. This story is inspired by 2 Samuel 21. Go to BibleinaYear.com and learn the Bible in a Year.

Today's Bible verse is 2 Samuel 21:3 from the King James Version.

Episode 110: Famine was in the land of Israel, and this led to hard times for the people. So David sought the Lord and asked what he should do. God showed him the reason for the famine and commanded him to make peace with the Gibeonites for the sins that Saul had committed against them. David called the Gibeonites to him and gave them their request, the life of Saul’s sons. After this, the famine eased and Israel once again flourished. However, this flourishing would draw out more enemies of Israel and more battles, battles that David was too old to fight in.

Burning the Scroll - The Books of Jeremiah & 2 Kings

Burning the Scroll - The Books of Jeremiah & 2 Kings

In this Bible Story, we learn of God speaking through the prophet Jeremiah. His words of comfort, justice, and repentance begin to truly affect the hearts of Judah. However, the king plants seeds of doubt and burns his words in the fire. This story is inspired by Jeremiah 26, 36, 2 Chronicles 36 & 2 Kings 23:31-25:30. Go to BibleinaYear.com and learn the Bible in a Year.

Today's Bible verse is Jeremiah 36:28 from the King James Version.

Episode 156: The kingdom of Judah was now under the power of Egypt. Neco placed Jehoiakim (Josiah’s other son and Jehoahaz’s brother) on the throne as his vassal. One night, however, the boiling pot of Babylon showed up in full force. King Nebuchadnezzar raided the city, the people, and the temple, and he took Jehoiakim captive and made his son Jehoiachin in his place. In all of this, Judah did not turn in repentance. And so God sent the Chaldeans to come and burn the city; destroying the temple. Yet even here, God sent a message of hope to His people.

Episode 169: Luke 23 Part 1 Jesus’ Trial

Episode 169: Luke 23 Part 1 Jesus’ Trial
Jesus is standing before Pilate being questioned by him while the religious leaders are hurling false accusations trying to persuade Pilate to kill him. The hatred for the very Messiah they were looking for is simply atrocious! They come up with several lies and present them as truth which is what the enemy does. After Pilate realized Jesus was a Galilean, he has him sent to Herod. Even there, the religious leaders make their false accusations hoping Herod would have him crucified but he is more interested in seeing a miracle and making a mockery of Jesus. He is sent back to Pilate and Pilate was going to flog him, then release him but the crowd got involved and started shouting they wanted Jesus killed! Pilate, as a true politician, gives the crowd their way and hands Jesus over to the religious leaders to be crucified. Let’s talk about it…

Episode 168: Luke 22 Part 3 Jesus On Trial

Episode 168: Luke 22 Part 3 Jesus On Trial
Luke ends chapter 22 with the mockery of a trial the religious had for Jesus. What is sad is that the people who came to arrest him were made up of religious leaders and priests, which are the very same people who are having this pathetic trial. They think they are in control because they have accomplished something they have been trying for three years—they have arrested Jesus and is about to condemn him to death. What they don’t understand is, they don’t have any power and they are actually doing the will of God! This was God’s plan the whole time so Jesus could be the Passover Lamb and die for our sins! Thank you, Jesus, for going through with the Father’s plan for us and giving us hope!

On Maintaining A Mind To Work In The Midst Of Mockery - Audio
As we PARTICIPATE with God in a DIVINE process, mockers may arise who do not believe that our work will succeed. These mockers can raise doubt in our minds and discouragement in our hearts. Counter attacking these mockers will only lead to a toxic exchange that does anything but bring us closer to renewal. Instead, we should give them over to God, and continue trusting in Him. Withstanding mockery may seem only a hinderence, but it is actually a key part of the DIVINE PROCESS by which God renews us.
