E56: Best Mom Advice from Thriving Mom "Co-Workers" (Part 1)

E56: Best Mom Advice from Thriving Mom "Co-Workers" (Part 1)

We can learn so much from other moms, our "co-workers" in this motherhood journey. In this episode some special moms in my life share what they have learned and their best mom advice. A recurring piece of advice was not to compare yourself with other moms. While we can and should learn from the moms around us we don't need to be them! Be yourself and you will be the mom your children need.

    Ep 38 - Friendship in Your 30s

    Ep 38 - Friendship in Your 30s

Are you struggling with making friends? Maybe you have AMAZING friends, but you can't remember the last time you actually saw them in person.

If most of your time is spent rescheduling, postponing, and straight up cancelling - I feel you. Friendship as your responsibilities increase is hard. Who has time for a girl's night out when the toddler is going through a growth spurt, and the baby is teething. Maybe it's more between work, volunteering, and whatever other personal commitments you have - matching up two schedules seems impossible.

Whatever your situation, you aren't alone. I'm there too. So grab your coffee, and let's talk about it.

Episode 70: The Truth About Working from Home and Being a Mom Entrepreneur

Episode 70: The Truth About Working from Home and Being a Mom Entrepreneur

Do you wonder how I do it all...here’s the secret…

I DON’T! Haha This is as legit as it gets. In this episode I open up to you all about what it’s really like working from home and having a business. I talk about the pros and the cons cause I want you to see what it’s all about!

I am so grateful for the crazy journey I’ve been on and how it’s led me to my podcast management business and this podcast. But things are changing again and I’ve got news for you in this episode.

Also...I hope this episode reminds you that it’s ok to take breaks and that you do not have to do it all. There is no magic secret. We are all just doing the best we can with what we got.

Episode 69: How Sharing Her Miscarriage Story Gave Her Strength with Stephanie Inghram

Episode 69: How Sharing Her Miscarriage Story Gave Her Strength with Stephanie Inghram

Did you know that 1 in 4 women have a miscarriage?

It’s a heartbreaking thing that happens more often than we think. Although it is starting to be talked about more, it is still not talked about enough and that’s why Stephanie feels like she needs to continue to open up about her experience with miscarriage.

In this very vulnerable episode, Stephanie shares her story about her two miscarriages. She shares what her body went through and also how hard it really was. But she talks about how her strength came from sharing her story more. Stephanie believes that miscarriage needs to be talked about for the mental health of the mom. She breaks down everytime she hears about someone who has a miscarriage because it takes her back to her experience and she hates that anyone else has to feel and go through that. I appreciate Stephanie’s bravery and strength. Her willingness to share will hopefully continue to help moms out there who have had a miscarriage.

Stephanie Ingram is the founder of momUP-Upping Your Mom Game! She is an entrepreneur extraordinaire turned mom, turned super-passionate self-care mama coach who works from home with her toddler and seven month old (and husband) underfoot.

Episode 67: Loving Ourselves More as a Mom and as a Person

Episode 67: Loving Ourselves More as a Mom and as a Person

I had some time recently to read about my younger mom years.

I have always liked to journal, but since being married and especially after having kids, I just didn’t do it as much. But the little I did write, I am grateful I did!

I was reminded of some things that were really important to me when it came to be a home. Honestly, some things I had forgot. And I thought..I can still change and be a better mom, but I am also doing better than I thought.

In this episode, I just wanted to remind you that you are doing a great job. That you are important and what you do it important too. I think it’s important that we aren’t so hard on ourselves as a mom and as a person. Being negative in our heads can come out sometimes. We are just too dang hard on ourselves.

So in the season of love, I want you to remember to love yourself. As a mom and as an individual person.

I would love for you to write for yourself on a paper that you feel really confident in as a mom TODAY. You’re doing better than you think.

Episode 61: Love Your Mom Body

Episode 61: Love Your Mom Body

Do you sometimes get stuck on the negative changes in your body since having kids?

Do you talk unkindly to yourself in your head about the way you look?

I’ve done it. I told you all I would get legit, well here it is.

I don’t like to talk about this topic much because it hits home right now. This hasn’t been my year of good health habits and my confidence in myself has weakened. But you ladies asked for this topic and I didn’t want to shy from a topic that is probably sensitive for a lot of people to talk about. Legit motherhood is all about opening up about those real and raw parts of motherhood that are hard, but needed to be talked about.

This episode gives you some new insight into how you can look at your body in a more positive way. I give you some new mindset phrases to tell yourself and read an amazing quote from a recent Instagram post I saw from @comefollowmedaily. It’s not easy to change our minds about ourselves, but it can be done. You can change the way you see yourself in all its stages.

Our bodies change after having kids. It’s part of the evolve of our motherhood. So why are we so hard on ourselves? I hope this episode helps remind you of your beauty and worth outside of a look or numbers. I think you are beautiful. Believe it yourself.

Episode 58: Creating a Life You Don’t Want to Escape with Suzanna Haltern

Do you ever feel so overwhelmed by your responsibilities as a mom, you just want to getaway for a bit? Or maybe you are constantly wanting to get away because your life is just too much?

This episode is so inspiring and Suzanna has the most peaceful calming voice I’ve ever heard! Haha Suzanna Haltern comes on the podcast to talk about how we can truly create a life that we don’t want to escape from. I found this topic fascinating because I won’t lie, sometimes I feel this way and I hate that.

She talks about how a lot of our healing affects how we view and live our lives. If we don’t take care of ourselves, it’s hard to take care of others, especially those in our family. She talks about how you can start taking steps to living the life you want and image. Suzanna also encourages moms to celebrate their wins, no matter how small! Make a big deal out of the things that you are changing and accomplishing in your life. Ahhh...I could go on, but don’t want to give away too much of the episode. She is full of wisdom and says things in a way I never have thought of them. This is a MUST listen.

Episode 57: The Hope in Healing and Getting Rid of the Stigma Around Mental Illness with Sine Bentley

Episode 57: The Hope in Healing and Getting Rid of the Stigma Around Mental Illness with Sine Bentley

Sine recently created a blog post about her experience with depression and anxiety during her pregnancies. I loved her post so much and her openness that I wanted to get her on the podcast. She talks about how she found hope in a dark time and what helped her, but that ultimately everyone’s experience is different. She hopes that sharing her experience lets other mom’s know that they are not alone if they have gone through this. She also hopes that opening up about her experience will help those who may not struggle with mental illness know how to support their loved ones who do struggle. Her strength and realness is inspiring. If you are suffering with any form of mental illness, please ask for help. You don’t have to do this alone.

Sine owns and runs a custom watercolor art business, Sine Bentley Art. Reading was her only hobby for most of her life. She has since ventured into other things, it took a while. She really loves creating in any capacity, listening to podcasts, working out at the gym without her kids haha, travel, hiking, and connecting with people.

Sine, pronounced "See-neh", was born and raised in beautiful Durban, South Africa. She moved to the United States 8 years ago, after having met and married her husband. She has four kids, all wild and sweet boys. Their ages range from 2 months to 7 years old. As a family, they love being outdoors, eating out together, and LEGOs are an integral part of their family culture!

Episode 56: How To Share the Family Responsibilities with Your Spouse with Sharon Costanzo

Episode 56: How To Share the Family Responsibilities with Your Spouse with Sharon Costanzo

Have you ever felt like you take on too much? Do you feel like a lot of the household chores fall on your plate?

I know in every household, the dynamics are different and the responsibilities are different, but for a mom, sometimes it seems mom takes on TOO much. In this episode, I discuss with Sharon Costanzo how we can better share the household and family responsibilities.

I love how she shares her personal examples and experiences with what worked for her and her husband and their kids. It’s not easy and it takes some trial and error to figure it out, but it is possible! I love how she puts into perspective realistic expectations and how we communicate the things that we need support with in our homes, our time, our time with the kids, etc. I hope you find this helpful in some way if you seem to feel overwhelmed with everything you have to do or think you have to do.

Sharon Costanzo is a life coach who focuses on helping women who struggle with balance and fairness in their homes. She also works as a full time technical trainer for a manufacturing company. Sharon is from Utah and lives on a little urban farm near Salt Lake where they have 2 goats, 4 chickens, and a dog. She has been married for 8 years and has two kids that are 4 and 5.
