Bonus: Deep Dive - Why Sam Snead Plays Girls for Money

Sam Snead is without question one of the greatest golfers of all time. He is known for many things but most remember his smooth golf swing. Equally as impressive is his trophy case. He still shares the record for most wins on the PGA (82).   In this episode of "Did I Tell You About My Albatross," host Albi introduces a new bonus series that delves deeper into the greatest golf stories and Slamming Sammy certainly owns one. On a beautiful day in 1962, Sam became the first and only Man to win an LPGA Tour Event. Albi dives deep to understand better who Sam Snead was, why he chose to compete in an LPGA, and why this was even a thing.

The crew will be back for another traditional episode of DITYAMA early next week.

Until then, enjoy the amazing tale of Sam Snead.

You're Going To Name Me WHAT?

You're Going To Name Me WHAT?

The Social Security Administration has released a list of the latest frequently used baby names in the US.  Currently, Emma and Liam are the most popular for 2020. Luna tops the list for baby girls in the UK.  Luna was the name of the Roman Moon Goddess.  The most popular girl’s name in the world right now is Sophia!

Apollo, Birdie, Bear and Zelda are trending for baby names in Italy, and Cian and Roisin are peaking in Ireland.  A sobriquet is a descriptive name given to someone because of a physical trait such as Red, red hair or Peanut because of diminutive size. Food oriented names are also gaining popularity worldwide such as Cinnamon, Dijon, Kale, and Benedict. Of course, if you don’t like your name, it’s not that difficult to change it.  What’s a word for the fear of change?  Kainotophobia.

Ep. 541 - Chris Lewis (EVP, Greenville Swamp Rabbits)

What's in a name? In minor league sports, Greenville's ECHL hockey franchise is the latest to embrace the weird, renaming themselves from the Road Warriors to the Swamp Rabbits. And this took every single person who has heard it by storm, including the national press. Chris Lewis explains the history behind the Greenville franchise, how its numbers haven't been stellar in attendance or corporate sponsorship as the Road Warriors, and how the name change has caused a lot of drastic attention to come the way of the team by the Swamp Rabbits moniker. Lewis talks about how only a few people have had an issue with it, but thus far, The Swamp Rabbits has brought national attention by way of Sports Illustrated and ESPN, and revitalized the prospects of a small hockey franchise in South Carolina. How did Andrew Allemann go from a regular college student at The University of Texas at Austin to amassing 1,000 domains that earned him over $100,000 in profit every year? More importantly, how did he build it up his domain name portfolio in the first place? The short answer is by keeping abreast of technology trends and focusing on a triad of domain name monetization options: parking, affiliate programs and mini website developing.
