Charlie provides spiritual care in the form of non-partisan chaplaincy and pastoral services to members of the Provincial Parliament and their staff at the Legislative Assembly of Ontario. He is a friend who wants to help these leaders flourish, and recognizes that there are times that they, like others who have high stress jobs need rest and rejuvenation. Charlie tries to bring that refreshment and prays for them and with them, for personal and professional concerns - for wisdom, discernment, and patience.

The Arrival & Fall of the Movement for a People's Party

The Arrival & Fall of the Movement for a People's Party

Hey, y'all. The Movement for a People's Party (MPP) was founded by Nick Brana as an attempt to woo Bernie Sanders into leading a third party and fully replace the Democrats by 2020. Since it's creation in 2017, accusations of mismanagement, toxicity, racism, and sexual harassment have come to light.

Special thanks to all of the former members who talked with us. You're all amazing humans and we hope we do your experiences justice.

What to Know About Apple’s Mail Privacy Protection (MPP) Announcement from WWDC

What to Know About Apple’s Mail Privacy Protection (MPP) Announcement from WWDC

Last week at their annual Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) event, Apple announced a set of new privacy features for the upcoming iOS 15. Perhaps the most controversial (at least according to Marketing Twitter) is called Mail Privacy Protection. Apple asserts that MPP is designed to prevent “third parties” from accessing tracking data in email, primarily through tracking pixels placed in the message code. Apple says the new feature will “prevent senders from knowing when [users] open an email, and masks their IP address so it can’t be linked to other online activity or used to determine their location.”

We grabbed MessageGears’ Director of Deliverability Brad Gurley to break down what exactly this means for marketers and for deliverability monitoring in the future. We also welcome new co-host Luke Ambrosetti, making his IN GEAR debut!

Environmental Generalist: Dave Kramer on finding connections across continents and organizations

Environmental Generalist: Dave Kramer on finding connections across continents and organizations

Guest Dave Kramer stayed in Hanover after graduation to complete the teacher preparatory program and answered a classified ad to teach in Colombia. He headed to Cali with a mind to reinvent himself but anticipated honing his Spanish and having an adventure. Finding both his life mate and an appreciation for the environment there, he became a passionate advocate for not only the environment but also Colombia as a place and people. But continued unrest at the turn of the century made his wife anxious to get her gringo back home, thus beginning a recurring theme of “back to Boston.”

Dave found his way at a number of environmental organizations, building networks and connections as he went, including through his cohort at Harvard’s Kennedy School. A move to Austin allowed him to branch out on his own, consulting for a variety of organizations, but always keeping an eye to projects that support the people and environment of Colombia.

In this episode, find out from Dave how being an idealist who's a match-maker for ideas can sometimes spark what you need for your next adventures…on ROADS TAKEN...with Leslie Jennings Rowley,

    About This Episode's Guest

He is currently the program director for Planet Texas 2050, coordinating interdisciplinary climate change mitigation and adaptation initiatives at UT Austin. But if you're heading to Colombia for a visit and need a guide, Dave's your man. He is also the founder of the Colombia Rising Project. Follow them on Twitter @RisingColombia

    COVID-19: Re-Opening The Economy

    COVID-19: Re-Opening The Economy

    PUBLISHED: 05/02/2020

The door appears to be opening a crack for Canada’s provinces when it comes to restarting the economy.

Over seven weeks of lockdowns for Canadians due to the pandemic, Premiers from across the country for the most part are releasing plans to ease Emergency restrictions and opening up parts of their economy. In Ontario, there is a three-staged plan, but it’s short on dates. In Quebec, it’s a bit more open with the addition of children returning to school. In Saskatchewan, the plan will start with the resumption of elective surgeries, cancelled during the pandemic. In New Brunswick, restrictions started easing last week.

Opening up the economy is crucial for Canada to return to normal or at least the “new normal”. The guide to re opening the economies appears to be gradual opposed to widespread. The bottom line in all the plans is to ease into it to avoid another flare up of the pandemic.

Coming up on the Unpublished Cafe, we take a look at the plans and get some analysis from the business community as well as political reaction. And then we want to hear from you: do you believe the time is right to re-open the economy?
