Thomas Levet - Tales of The Open

Thomas Levet - Tales of The Open

Few players have ever captured the imagination of a crowd quite like Thomas Levet.

A showman simply by having fun, Levet was a rare breed of golfer who seemed to enjoy every moment of the most intense of competition. This was never more true than The Open in 2002.

With a sensational run at the title, Levet thrilled fans across the globe, and showed sportsmanship that is unheralded, even in a game as honourable as golf.

The Thing About Golf #76: Lindsey Garden

Women and caddies – two perspectives we don’t hear enough of in golf media and both bundled up in one interview.

The Thing About Golf's John Huggan sits down with lifelong friend, mixed foursomes partner, former European Tour caddie and now one of the first women members at Scotland's Muirfield, Lindsey Garden.

Lindsey caddied for Wayne Riley in his memorable 1991 Australian Open win at Royal Melbourne and that’s just one of many great tales in this chat.

We explore Colt's early golfing days at Cambridge and his early influences, R&A membership and the formation of the Oxford & Cambridge Golf Society. We then take a look at some of Colts' designs at Rye, Sunningdale, St. Andrews, Swinley Forest, St Georges Hill, Rosapenna, Royal Dublin, Royal County Down, County Sligo, Royal Portrush and Royal Liverpool. We also consider how Colt's style evolved through time and what sort of legacy has he left to the game.
