Ever since Hodgie came onto the podcast to share his tips for mangrove jack fishing I've had requests to get him back for some Murray cod action! After all, cod are what started Hodgies career as a fishing TV host, writer and speaker. So here it is! Hodgie takes us to the town of Berri, on the South Australian arm of the Murray River in pursuit of the big green fish!

Wyangala Dam in central western NSW is a major irrigation storage that captures inflows from the Lachlan and Abercrombie River systems. For the Murray cod enthusiast, the system contains a diversity of structure that is home to large cod as well as yellowbelly and a population of carp.

In episode 289 tournament angler and cod enthusiast Josh Kopp shares his tips for targeting cod in this system during the summer months when conditions are pleasant for anglers and the fish are active and wiling.
