    Episode 037 Matt Noveskey

Matt Novesky is the Owner of Orb Recording Studios in Austin Texas where artists from all over the world come to experience “ A place where inspiration flows, and coming back feels like coming home.” It’s a badass little slice of artistic heaven and walking into the lounge you can kinda feel the energy pouring out of the walls. Matt is also the lead man for the two man band Icarus Bell and plays with the band Blue October as the bassist. The list goes on and on and on… Matt is one busy dude! But he made time for Fort Worth Roots and myself and we cant thank our new homie Matt enough for spending time to do a quick recording . Matt thank you so much my friend and you and your artists are always welcome on Fort Worth Roots.

Matt Noveskey heard what I was using for the outro when we were wrapping things up. He asked if I would like to try sampling some of his art to use as the intro or outro. I didn’t hesitate to say “Hell yes!”. So what you heard me using in todays intro and then the music at the very end is from the song “Bones” by Icarus Bell. Matt Noveskey (lead vocals, bass, guitars) and drummer Alan Adams (drums and percussion). Their debut album is set to feature a number of surprise appearances by an all star cast of musicians such as Bumblefoot, Lukas Rossi and members of Noveskey’s full time band Blue October.

Dr. Candice Williams is an Anesthesiologist transitioning to Music Producer and performer. This is her second time to be interviewed on Right Brain Rounds, and she wanted to share the concept behind her most recent and amazing music collaboration!

More info on The Black Beauty Project:

The Black Beauty Project is a collaboration between Candice Williams, Jasmine Colbert and Nena Lockhart, three friends who planned to come together for the Tea & Verse Poetry Salon's show to honor black women in poetry and music, conceptualized by Jasmine Colbert. Their show was unfortunately cancelled due to COVID 19, and they remained inspired to make music together. In considering next steps, Candice contemplated the plight of Black people in America and wrote a song that speaks to their collective beauty and worth. Nena and Jasmine were integral to bringing that vision to reality with their vocal talents and writing skill. In light of recent events from Brianna Taylor to George Floyd and the refrain of Black Lives Matter, as Black women they are standing up to declare the beauty and dignity of Black people everywhere.
