After completing her D.M.A. in 2018, Heidi went on a whirlwind ride trying to find her place within the music community. At first, when applying to academia jobs, she was unsuccessful. Fortunately, Heidi was able to (finally!) obtain a full-time job in Shanghai, China; however, due to the pandemic, the job was cancelled. At this point, Heidi had to reevaluate her next steps within her music career. Learn how she pivoted through this season, so you can hopefully find inspiration for your own pivot!

Cameron Henry who is from St. Louis, went to Kirkwood High School and is now a sophomore at Indiana University’s Jacobs School of Music studying percussion talks with host Julian Loida about what school has been like from the beginning of Covid-19 into the winter months.  Host, Julian Loida is also from St. Louis, an alum of Kirkwood High, and IU, so they go into detail talking about what has changed and remained the same.  It’s a fun and insightful conversation between two generations of young percussionists.
