    The Plunge

    The Plunge
We're diving straight into season 2 of the Freeform hit Cruel Summer. Once we wrap up season 2, we plan to dive into season 1. The great thing about this intriguing puzzle box style show is that it's an anthology - so if you missed season 1, you can join us for season 2 and catch up later! This is the episode where Freeform gets mad at us for poking too much fun. But hey, even shows with great writing can have their ridiculous moments. At least this one went the corny, contrived route rather than the offensive, distasteful, or poorly written route. We thoroughly enjoyed poking fun at the "hideous girl turned stunning knockout once she takes off her glasses" trope, and we hope you did too. We're still really enjoying this season, but sad that we lost the last good guy in Chatham. Dammit, Luke; we had such high hopes; That Chambers blood is strong! Isabella has still never done anything wrong ever - not once. Even if she did, no she didn't. Let us know in the comments what you think of the season so far! What are your season 2 theories? I Am All the Star Wars Fans

I Am All the Star Wars Fans

    Movie Meltdown - Episode 531

When a certain co-host that hadn't seen "The Rise of Skywalker" finally sits down and watches it… well, it opens up a whole new can of sandworms. So listen as we dig into J.J. Abrams and Rian Johnson and the overall arc of the most recent trilogy. Along the way, we get some opinions that you may not have heard on this show before - and before we're done, we look to the future of the franchise.

And while we ourselves get “the toy box feeling”, we also bring up… Knives Out, the Star Trek Encyclopedia, The Mandalorian, he is an absolutely unique presence, Justin Lin, the wolfman having a drink, Super 8, none of this has to be an obstacle to having a good time at the movies, I’m going to let them do the writing for me, it’s like pure unadulterated fun, a marketing tool is a writing technique, Daisy Ridley, realizing a property for its fans, the most to do… out of any of the movies, Tales of the Bounty Hunters, nobody had done it that way before, Star Wars wish-fulfillment, it ticks these boxes and pushes these buttons, working-class sci-fi, Jon Favreau, perfectly relatable, Tales from the Mos Eisley Cantina, how do we keep this franchise rollin’, William Shatner, let me tell you about a mystery box, when they were making the expanded universe, maybe his greatest accomplishment and frog nuns.

"The plot of the film is itself - is an excuse for the film to happen.”

    44: TED Talks

    44: TED Talks

Alex Berg joins Jen this week to discuss the nerdy wonders that are TED Talks, the lectures on technology, entertainment, and design given throughout the year at various TED events as well as provided free online. From robotics to ancient relics to defining life, love, and consciousness, there's a TED talk for just about everyone, though Alex and Jen admittedly geek out primarily over the talks that fall under TED's "T." Of course, that doesn't mean they haven't also watched talks about porn and sex toys. They are human, after all.
