Tech N9ne, rapper and musical label co-founder

Tech N9ne, rapper and musical label co-founder
Tech N9ne is a pioneer of the independent music world. He co-founded Strange Music in 1999, but his music career started long before that. Join FOX4’s Nick Vasos as he chats with Tech N9ne about his childhood in Kansas City, Missouri and how he came up with his “Chopper” style of rap.   See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

Tech N9ne, Sudsin It Up With Evan, Bou Lou

Tech N9ne, Sudsin It Up With Evan, Bou Lou

In another special episode of Beats, Beards & Brews, the dudes dive into Midwest rapper Tech N9ne's 2006 album Everready (The Religion).

From longtime "technician" (Eric) to Tecca Nina newcomer (Dan), the gang tries to determine if the classic album holds up to this day.

Dan and Eric revisit Beardbrand's Utility Balm, which they reviewed on a previous episode, and Evan continues Sudsin It Up, this time trying out Grandpa's Buttermilk Bar Soap. No soap was eaten.

Finally, the mostly bearded trio drinks down Bou Lou: A Boulevard x Tech N9ne Collaboration, which Evan picked up while in Lawrence, Kansas, or maybe it was KCMO, either way he got it for us!

Does Bou Lou live up to its cocktail cousin Caribou Lou, the ultimate party favor? Will it get you karate punchin? Tune in to find out!

    Artist Spotlight - Noa James | @NoaJames

    Artist Spotlight - Noa James | @NoaJames
In this episode of PoPolitickin, we politick with Inland Empire, CA emcee Noa James.

Rapping since the age of 13, Noa James began his musical journey as a successful battle rapper who quickly became known for his brutal punch lines and sharp tongue. After 5 years in the battle circuit, Noa realized that he wanted success as an artist and although he was young he knew he had a big story to tell.

Over the years James’ autobiographical rhymes have made him a pioneer in the art of storytelling and although his powerful stage presence and large stature has made him a force to be reckoned with, it is the size of his heart, that has remained most imminent. Not only making a name for himself as an artist, Noa is also widely known as a leading force in Southern California’s Inland Empire underground hip hop movement.

(50:11) This week in For The Culture: After allegations towards R. Kelly and Nas, does the Hip Hop community tend to look past issues against women in favor of artists with good music? And we also talk about the name and release date of Nicki Minaj's upcoming album.
