[EP 70] Interview with Charlotte Jorst | Unstoppable Woman

[EP 70] Interview with Charlotte Jorst | Unstoppable Woman

#70 Natasha talks to entrepreneur and amazing woman Charlotte Jorst about being an unstoppable woman.
When people tell Charlotte Jorst she can’t do something, she gallops right past them. When told she couldn’t sell beer in America, she did just that, and founded her own watch company to boot. When skin cancer threatened her equestrian career (she was diagnosed twice), she started a new line of UV-resistant ride-wear.
This is one not to be missed!

#16 What are macros? Health Discussion Part 2

#16 What are macros? Health Discussion Part 2

#16 In the world of health, you may have heard people use the term ‘macros’. So what are macros and why do people and health professionals keep referring to them? Often, it’s something we believe only applies to bodybuilders and health obsessed fitness people.

But it doesn’t have to be that way. In the world of health and fitness we need to arm ourselves with knowledge so we can navigate the complex world that is the food industry. Doing so gives us our best chance to provide ourselves with the best foods for us so we can have optimum health and energy.

We hope you enjoy this discussion and can walk away with that bit more knowledge.

#15 Do you prefer pain or pleasure? What's your motivation?

#15 Do you prefer pain or pleasure? What's your motivation?

#15 Doing anything in life, making any decision, going for any goal/dream or whatever. Are we motivated by the pain that not having that thing or that dream? Or are we motivated by the pleasure of what it will give us by achieving such a thing.

In most cases we have found that it is more powerful to be motivated to move away from pain that towards pleasure, but that might not always be the case for you and different things in your life will have different motivations for you.

If you think health and fitness - I am going to go the gym or I will put on weight and look awful in a bathing suit or my clothes are not going to fit me. This is a pain motivation, and in most cases it more powerful than being motivated by the pleasure of I’m going to the gym because I’m going to look amazing when I go down to the beach.

Are you motivated by pain or pleasure? In what areas of your life?

Make sure you check out this episode to learn all about why we have motivation towards pleasure or away from pain, and how you can apply it to your journey through life.

#14 The 4 life lessons we learnt living out of our horse float for 3 weeks

#14 The 4 life lessons we learnt living out of our horse float for 3 weeks

#14 For the last 3 weeks, we have been on the road between houses. We have been living in our beautiful black and gold horse float… and while that was a hot topic in the caravan parks (that it was a horse float and a colour other than white), it definitely wasn’t the same as living in a caravan!!

It’s been a very memorable experience!

When reflecting on the last 3 weeks and the whole covid experience (which is why we were living in our float in the first place - we were unable to go across the border into Qld as the state was shut down!).

It’s interesting to note the different experiences people have had from different points of view…

Eg. Parents saying that they were unable to see their friends, they were unable to socialise and their kids were home and bored 24/7 because of home schooling

    Vs.

The kids saying it was so awesome - we didn’t have to go to school, we got to spend soooo much more time with our parents, playing games and doing other things together!

We went into the last 3 weeks with the intention that this is going to be an opportunity to spend time with the kids, it’s an adventure.

Rather than focusing on what we didn’t have, the small space, the living conditions, we are stuck in a horse float etc.

The biggest learning is to go into something with the right intention and decide how you are going to feel about it!

The second learning was getting back to nature - the horse float was fine as long as we could get out of the cramped conditions and walk along the beach. There is something about walking barefoot on the beach to recharge your body.

Make sure you check out this episode to learn what else we gained from our experience, and how you can apply it to your journey through life.

#13 Everybody wants this... but why do so many people struggle? Health Discussion Part 1

#13 Everybody wants this... but why do so many people struggle? Health Discussion Part 1

#13 Health is so important - health is life. Why do so many people struggle, even when we have a wealth of knowledge?

“To know and not to do is not to know”

Your health is the one thing you can’t buy. Health is everything. When you have your health, you don’t really think about it.

If you could see what every food does to you when you eat it… if you had a feedback clock or could see the direct effect a food that was bad for you was having on you - you would NEVER eat the bad food!

Being health is all about prevention vs. treating the symptoms.

#12 Wim Hof - The Ice Man (Using His Principles To Improve Your Health)

#12 Wim Hof - The Ice Man (Using His Principles To Improve Your Health)

#12  We are always on the search for new ideas and ways of improving our health - both mentally and physically.

A number of years ago we came across a truly inspirational and amazing man - Wim Hof. He’s known as the ice man, because he has swum in the arctic with no oxygen or wetsuit, and he also holds the world record for the longest swim without assistance (again, just in his speedos) under ice. He’s also run a marathon in the desert without drinking any water. This is a man who is truly in control of his body - both things we take for granted like breathing and temperature regulation, and pushing the limits of what our bodies can do.

Wim Hof teaches people a couple of main things, but one of those things is teaching you about controlling your breathing. The other main thing is teaches is about using this breathing and controlling your temperature regulation. We have been to a Wim Hof seminar and sat in an ice bath to work on this principle - it’s amazing!!

Have a listen to our Phil and Tash podcast today all about Wim Hof and how we use his principles and theories in our lives (well, mostly Phil!).

#11 What is Masculine and Feminine Energy? (and How Did It Save Our Relationship?)

#11 What is Masculine and Feminine Energy? (and How Did It Save Our Relationship?)

#11 Have you ever had a really big argument over ‘nothing’ with your partner? If you have and I would say that would be all of you currently in a relationship - then you need to listen to this episode!

We had a big argument earlier in the week. It was a fight that could have really damaged our relationship… and Tash blew up in a big way!

If we weren’t evolved and didn’t understand each other at a deeper level, a fight like that could have been a whole lot worse than it was.

Luckily, because of the volume of books that we have read on this topic and the training that Tash has undertaken in NLP and how your mind works… Phil understood that Tash’s reaction was nothing to do with him.

Both men and women need to understand this… this isn’t particularly man and woman in the literal sense, but masculine and feminine energy. Both energies exist in both sexes.

Feminine energy does this sometimes. When it is feeling under attack, unsafe, it decides to test the masculine energy.

If you threaten a feminine energy without her having somewhere safe to be, they tend to go a bit kookoo!!

So how do you understand and deal with masculine and feminine energy - listen to this revealing episode to learn all about it!

Have a listen to our Phil and Tash podcast today all about - what is masculine and feminine energy? It might be a real eye opener for you (it certainly was for us!).

#10 What Is Your Ideal Day?

#10 What Is Your Ideal Day?

#10 Have you ever taken the time to think about what your ideal day would be? Most people answer, ‘I’d be at the beach, at a tropical location, sitting in the sun, relaxing, not doing much’. But when we really take the time to think about it deeper, we soon discover that if we lived this day over and over and over again, we’d get bored of it.

Your ideal day is the day that inspires you, energises you, makes you want to get up in the morning, it drives you and fulfills you!

When I first heard this concept from Tash I took some time to list everything I’d love to get done on my ideal day. While it may seem far away from doing your ideal day 100%, you can start to do things now that you’d have as part of your ideal day.

For me it was reading, going to the gym, performing a morning routine. I was already doing certain things that would make up part of my ideal day. And each month, each year, I’d try and get closer to doing my ideal day 100%!

We hope you enjoy this concept and take some time to create and start living your ideal day. It’s time to live a life by design, not by chance.

What is your ideal day? It might not be what you initially think. This discussion will open your eyes to creating and start living your ideal day every day. Enjoy!!
