    Daughter of Abraham: Faithful Follower

    Daughter of Abraham: Faithful Follower
In today’s episode of All God’s Women we meet a Daughter of Abraham, a woman who came faithfully to the synagogue, despite her ailment, and received unexpected healing as a result. For eighteen years this woman had stared at the ground, unable to stand face to face with those around her. For eighteen years she’d not been able to look into someone’s eyes and have them look back into hers. Imagine the feelings that must have flowed through her as she stood for the first time and saw Jesus face to face, looking into her eyes with more compassion and love than anything she’d ever experienced before. All that suffering was worth it in order to experience that moment together. All God's Women is a women's Bible study podcast  and internationally syndicated radio show where we journey through the Bible one woman at a time. The Adulteress: Caught in the Act of Sin

The Adulteress: Caught in the Act of Sin
In today’s story of The Adulteress Woman, we meet a woman caught in the act of sin who waited when she could have escaped. We meet the Adulteress in John chapter 8, but in order for us to fully appreciate her story, we need to understand the time period in which it takes place. Tension was building up. Jesus was at the Feast of Tabernacles saying things people didn’t understand. None of it made sense. Many were rejecting Him. The rulers were seeking an opportunity to bring Him in for questioning, but they didn’t have just cause. It was a time of confusion and chaos. No one knew what to think. Frustrated, they waited for the opportunity to arise to get rid of Jesus so they could go back to their status quo. John chapter 7 closes with, “everyone went to his own house.”Then chapter 8 opens with, “But Jesus went to the Mount of Olives.”Please take a moment to vote for All God's Women  as "Best Female Hosted Show" in the Spark Media People's Choice awards. The Canaanite Woman: A Woman With Tenacious Faith
In today’s story of the Canaanite Woman, we meet a mother willing to take on Jesus in order to get the needed healing for her daughter. What an audacious amount of courage it must have taken this woman to reach out to Jesus. There was literally no reason for her to believe He would honor her request. She was a Gentile, a Canaanite, and a woman. All God's Women is a Bible study podcast  and syndicated radio show where we journey through the Bible one woman at a time. Herodias: The Woman Who Murdered John the Baptist

Herodias: The Woman Who Murdered John the Baptist
We’ve had several months of feel-good stories, of women in desperate situations who were redeemed by the love and mercy of Jesus. Today’s story is not so pretty. We look at Herodias, a vile woman consumed with power and prestige, willing to go down whatever slippery slope it took to get what she wanted. We find Herodias mentioned in Matthew 14, Mark 6, and Luke 3. The gospel writers spent as little time as possible on her story, only mentioning her as a flashback or side note to explain what happened to John the Baptist. So who was Herodias? She was the granddaughter of Herod the Great. He was the Herod who had all the baby boys killed when he heard from the wise men that a king had been born in Bethlehem. As he aged, he grew more crazed and murdered his wife and three of his sons. This was the family she was born into. All God's Women is a Bible study podcast  and syndicated radio show where we journey through the Bible one woman at a time. Jairus' Daughter: A Young Woman Restored to Life

Jairus' Daughter: A Young Woman Restored to Life
Today’s story of Jairus’ daughter is directly tied to last week’s story of the Bleeding Woman. Together, they provide a wonderful compare and contrast study. They both happened in the same town, but the older woman was an outcast, whereas the younger girl was privileged. One was in the prime of her life. The other long past her prime. One was alone and seeking. The other had family fighting on her behalf. Each was transformed by the power of touch. The Anointing Woman: Her Sins Were Forgiven

The Anointing Woman: Her Sins Were Forgiven
In today’s episode of All God’s Women we look at a sinful woman who showed her love and appreciation for Jesus in the only way she knew how. This is one of those Bible stories that’s hard to understand without a knowledge of the customs of the time. Once we put the story into context, we're able to appreciate it more fully.Perhaps you are in the same situation as today’s woman. You’ve messed up big time, and everyone knows it. When they see you, all they see are your mistakes and failures. Good news! Jesus sees past your past. He sees your future. All you have to do is keep your eyes on Him. Show your love, your gratitude, your respect to Him, and don’t worry about what the world thinks. Just as Jesus forgave her for her sins, He does the same for you. Though your sins be as scarlet, He washes them white as snow. All God's Women is a Bible study podcast where we journey through the Bible one woman at a time. Mary: Mother of Jesus

    Mary: Mother of Jesus
Do you ever compare yourself to other moms? Do you assume that everyone else has it together and knows what they’re doing while you’re stumbling around in the dark? If so, you can find great comfort in today’s episode as we look at Mary as the mother of Jesus. We’re all familiar with Luke 1:28 when the angel Gabriel tells Mary that she is blessed among women. It’s easy for us to translate that to mean she was better than other women. And while, God saw something in her that made her His choice to be the mother of His son, she was no Superwoman. No, Mary was just an ordinary woman struggling to serve God the best she could. God didn’t expect perfection in Mary, and He doesn’t expect it in us. He knows our weaknesses and our shortcomings, and yet He allows us to parent anyway. One of the hardest things about being a mother is giving ourselves grace. We have to accept that we’re not perfect, and that’s ok. God knows that our imperfections are not going to ruin our children. He loves us. He loves our children. And He’s the one who put us together.
