Newfoundland Road Trip Return! with Fish!

Newfoundland Road Trip Return! with Fish!

This week Brendan returns from his long east coast road trip with smoke capelin fishes. Richard tries a Newfie Screech with Cola in a can and he likes it! We talk about traditional rabbit snaring. There is also a bunch of talk about rum and Brendan reiterates the best man speech he gave at a big wedding. Recorded October 7, 2022.

Thank you so much for listening,

    Brendan and Richard

Jim Moody, the Beer Lovin' Newf (Sackville, Nova Scotia 🇨🇦)

Jim Moody, the Beer Lovin' Newf (Sackville, Nova Scotia 🇨🇦)

When the scheduled guest couldn't make it on the show, my buddy Jim Moody (his beer-infused Instagram account is @jimmoody709) stepped in on short notice for some bullshittin' and a quick beer. This episode is nothing more than two Newfies having a bit of a yap... hope you can understand what we're saying. Cheers!

Recorded live on April 13, 2022.

Iron Rock Brewing (Lab City, Newfoundland & Labrador 🇨🇦)

Dave Hurley - owner & operator of Iron Rock Brewing, located in Lab City, Newfoundland & Labrador 🇨🇦 - with assistant brewer Brianna & team member Brittany, joined me live on Brewers Banter to chat about their Women’s Day Pink Boots DIPA, the challenges of brewing in Labrador, their tattoo festival at the brewery, future events and the focus on more females needed in the craft beer industry… as well as the chug challenge, (allegedly) Ryan Reynolds’ surprising twin & their shotgun roulette.

Recorded live on March 30, 2022.

This segment was inspired by minisode 219 of "My Favorite Murder" where a listener wrote in with her story about how her family would not exist if it were not for Hairy Man, the Newfoundland. Karen and Georgia are my sheroes and while they are not for children, I'm glad I was able to take that story and learn more.  https://omny.fm/shows/my-favorite-murder-with-karen-kilgariff-and-georgi/mfm-minisode-219
