In this episode I talk with Sapha of Sacred Rebels Recovery which is a peer-led ayahuasca assisted drug and alcohol rehabilitation program. I spoke with Sapha back in May 3-weeks before he closed his year long diet. In this episode we did a follow up to how life has been since closing his diet. Sapha live in Peru next door to Nihue Rao where he runs his recovery program.

Greetings from the jungle. As of November 11, 2023 I am in the jungle for the last two months of my year long sama. It feels good to be back. And I am excited to see how these final two months unfold.. I have a feeling that it will be a lot of insights and a whole lot of growth…This episode is about my return to the jungle. Welcome to the Deeper you go the Weirder it gets. I am your host Garett Renon. This episode is the recap of ceremony 16, 17, and 18. These ceremonies occurred on Friday May 5th, Monday May 8th, and Tuesday May 9th. This recap is different from the others because I am covering multiple ceremonies opposed to just one like I have in the past. The main reason for this is that after a certain amount of time all ceremonies start to resemble each other and there is nothing new to report that hasn’t been said before. So instead of giving the play by play of each ceremony I am going to just focus on the highlights. Also as you will soon hear, I got sick during ceremony 16 so that kind of took the wind out of my sail so to speak and I spent the next week just resting and trying to recover which is why this recap is shorter than the others. For this episode I am reading straight from my journal entry.

This episode is my first episode with another person. I talked with Sapha who just wrapped up a year long sama at Nihue Rao. We go into his origin story and how ayahuasca helped him overcome his long term addictions. Sapha is also the founder of Sacred Rebels which is an addiction recovery retreat that has partnered with Nihue Rao. In addition to the retreat Sacred Rebels has also started a permaculture initiative to produce food not only for Nihue Rao but also the surrounding local communities. This is a great episode
