    In this sixtieth (60th) edition of the TigerTalk podcast presented by Northeast Mississippi Community College, host Will Kollmeyer welcomes NEMCC Theatre director Christopher Schager back to the podcast to talk about the upcoming spring musical. During his interview, Schager talks about the importance of bringing the musical back to Northeast and the difference between an opera and an operetta -- which the spring musical is. During the "Trial by Jury" performance, audience members will see a hilarious look at the judiciary system along with the bondage of marriage during the 35-minute operetta. Performances are Thursday, February 14 (Valentine's Day) at 7 p.m., Saturday, February 16 at 7 p.m. and Sunday, February 17 at 2 p.m. Admission is $3 with a current Northeast ID and just $5 for the general public. In the second half of the podcast, Northeast Tiger baseball coach Richy Harrelson stops by to talk Tiger baseball. Harrelson talks about the season opener for the Tigers on Tuesday, February 12 at Harold T. White Field along with the final season at the field before the Field of Dreams opens at the corner of Third Street and Coach Bill Ward Drive in the fall of 2019. Harrelson gives insight on what players to watch and what players need to step up if the Tigers are to be successful on the diamond. The head baseball coach also puts out a call for all former Tiger baseball players to be part of the reunion to celebrate the new field in the fall. Harris joins Kollmeyer in the first half of the podcast to talk about his 2019 Humanities Teacher of the Year award from Northeast Mississippi Community College and the Mississippi Humanities Council. In addition to the award, Harris gives a brief overview of his Humanities Teacher of the Year lecture that will be held in the Hines Hall Auditorium on Tuesday, January 15 at 6 p.m. where he will talk about the influences that Louis Bernstein had on him and also perform some of Bernstein's anniversaries for solo piano. In the nightcap of the podcast, Kollmeyer talks with athletic director about all the athletic events that is happening on campus with our various sports including giving praise to the men's basketball team for its win over Itawamba Community College in Fulton and the women's basketball team for their upset over highly-ranked Shelton State (Ala.) right before the holiday break. Farris also gives listeners insight into the upcoming softball and baseball seasons, who cross the chalk for the first time on February 1 and February 12, respectively and even talks about the Northeast golf program.     In this forty-fifth (45th) episode of the TigerTalk Podcast by Northeast Mississippi Community College, we inch closer to celebrating one year as Northeast's official podcast that discusses all the events happening on campus and gives regular insight with in-studio guests. In this episode of the TigerTalk podcast, host Will Kollmeyer welcomes diesel technology instructor Jonathan Alexander to the podcast to talk about an important event coming up in October -- the HEADS event. Northeast hosts the annual Higher Education Achieves Demonstratable Skills event each year and this year's event will have a few surprises for the attendees. In addition to opening the event up to the general public to help recruit motivated students, Alexanders states that the HEADS event is now open to all students in grades 7-12 and that they have arranged to feed the students in attendance at the event. In a surprise move, HEADS organizers have been able to move the pep rally from the quad in front of the Ramsey Student Services Building to the empty lot at the corner of Second Street and Cunningham Boulevard to help bring participants closer to the action. It's going to be a great day to be a Tiger on Thursday, October 11. In the second half of the podcast, Kollmeyer welcomes Josh Culpepper, the college's bookstore manager to the podcast, as Culpepper introduces listeners to changes to the bookstore as the college embraces the 1:to:1 iPad initiative where most textbooks are in electronic form. Culpepper also highlights the pride that the bookstore takes in making sure that everyone that visits is decked out in Northeast colors and spirit. Kenny Paul Geno takes over the narrator's chair as he interviews Mr. and Miss Northeast Mississippi Community College, Conner McKay of Baldwyn and Lainey Stevens of Booneville as they talk about their recent honor and also what Northeast has meant to them during their two years at NEMCC. Northeast fitness director Robert Walker stops in to give us an update of everything that is going on at the Burgess Fitness Center including bicycle rentals, the new volleyball courts in front of White Hall and the outdoor exercise equipment located in front of White Hall and also between Wood and Murphy halls near the Gaye Roden Carr Aquatic Center. Walker also lets us know who won the competition at Burgess Fitness Center that focused on body fat percentage and how much each winner took home.
