Episode 37: Golden Days of Summer

Episode 37: Golden Days of Summer

This week all four guys are back to catch up on things in the world of golf, both professionally and personally. After spending two minutes on the WGC tournament in Memphis, the group talks about golf in the Olympics ... and go completely off on a tangent that connects Rickie Fowler to F1, why breakdancing is an olympic sport, and what events make up the modern pentathlon.

Oh yeah, the golf. Brian loved the back nine of the final round drama in the women's tournament, including the horn for a weather delay while they are on the 71st! hole.

After that we spend the second half of the podcast talking about recent golf we've played. Brian broke down his round with Colin at a parent-child alternate shot tournament, Doug had a round at the ultra exclusive Sanctuary Golf Club outside of Denver, Dave brags about his kids' performances at the Drive, Chip, and Putt, and Todd took his daughter out to the course for her first experience.  (I can't stress enough ... all of these stories were great, but most reinforce just how great relationships with your kids can be.) Hope you listen!

As Matsuyama takes center stage in this week's Olympic golf competition outside Tokyo, Alex Myers examines the many reverberations of Matsuyama's historic win, from the lucrative opportunities for the player, to the next Japanese golf boom it might inspire.
