    S2E24- Damage Control

Is McVet a dreamboat or is he just the bare minimum of a healthy relationship?  Did our generation put up with too much s**t in relationships?

This week at Seattle Grace all our surgeons are working on patients from the same car crash. Callie wants you to know she washes her hands,  Denny wants to be a real man, Derek and Meredith are 'finally' over, Burke has blue balls, and Alex still has a heart underneath his terrible attitude.

TMJ 076: What It's Like Working 28 Hours Straight In The Hospital [Overnight Call]

TMJ 076: What It's Like Working 28 Hours Straight In The Hospital [Overnight Call]

What is it like working 28 hours straight in the hospital!? When and why do residents take on overnight calls!? Do you really lose that much sleep!? What should you know before doing your first call!?

As a 2nd year resident, I can tell you, overnight calls are not the most exciting in the world. It’s fair to say that you’d rather be home with your loved ones and pets. But there are definitely benefits to it and can indeed help you become a better doctor.

Some benefits include; having a set sure day for when you can get a day off; and truly being able to focus on practicing medicine instead of dealing with the admin parts of medicine.

As you take on a call, be warned that there are times when the imposter syndrome does settle in and the idea of taking care of other doctor’s patients can be uncomfortable especially during your first few calls.

What else should you expect on a night call and how should you approach it!? Well, tune in to this new episode of the TMJ Show!

    On Call Halal

    On Call Halal

Kaitlin Abdelrahman joins us today to talk about how and why she launched On-Call Halal, delivering halal meals at suhoor AND iftar to Muslim healthcare workers in Kansas City. When all things are tough and we have to juggle so much. Kaitlin added one more thing to her amazing repertoire in order to turn lemons into lemonade. Of course, she’s sparked a conversation and movement that we hope will continue and span the breadth of our nation’s front line workers. What a power mom mashaAllah!

Whenever we feel it’s hard, it’s refreshing to know that we can always rise up to face the challenges we meet. Allahu Akbar.
