[GREATEST HITS] The 9 Step Guide to Becoming an Instagram Influencer

[GREATEST HITS] The 9 Step Guide to Becoming an Instagram Influencer

Influencer marketing is HUGE today. Yes, it is misunderstood and so many people think they know how it works, but few actually do.

To dive deeper into how it works and how people make living as Instagram influencers, I'm resharing one of my most popular episodes with Christina Galbato who pulls back the curtain and shares her experience as an influencer and a coach to future influencers.

Christina is a social media influencer, online educator, and digital marketing expert.

After building a successful career as a travel influencer and working with brands like Ritz-Carlton, Mazda, and lululemon, Christina pivoted into online education where she built a 7-figure business helping thousands of women build online empires as influencers.

She has been featured on CNN and Forbes and was a speaker at AdWorld and StartUp Grind.

    Body Image Online

    Body Image Online

Body image is how a person perceives themselves aesthetically or in terms of sexual attractiveness. It's a concept that is alive and well, in fact thriving, online, particularly among so-called online influencers. A long list of rationales has now been developed in an attempt to elevate or add legitimacy to what for many is simply a new way to market themselves using their bodies, especially of course women. Older women who fought the battles of the Women's Liberation or MeToo Movements are not all pleased by current trends. All this might be predictable among those whose values do not count moral concerns high on the list. But Christians should be different and provide another voice. For more Christian commentary check my website at rexmrogers.com.

People Say This Is the Best Business Book. I disagree.

People Say This Is the Best Business Book. I disagree.

Shoe Dog: A Memoir by the Creator of Nike by Phil Knight is said to be the best business book. Ever. The learning lessons are inferred and not spelled out, but the author summarizes everything he learned at the end.

While I don’t relate to having a product business, I’m struggling to find business and personal development books that aren’t too generic or sound the same.

My quick takeaways and memorable parts of the book:

    • Phil Knight doesn’t seem too likable.
    • The idea behind Nike started with a college paper.
    • Nike grew through influencer marketing before influencer was a word.
    • Nike was more innovative than the other guys… by doing things like using a waffle maker to create the sole of a shoe.
    • Nike means the Winged Goddess of Victory.
    • The Nike swoosh was created by a female college student, Carolyn Davidson, for just $35. Here’s more on her and her story: https://creativemarket.com/blog/the-35-nike-logo-and-the-woman-who-designed-it
    • For some reason, Nike never had money… even the year they had $140 million in sales. That’s why they went public.
    • Today, Phil Knight is worth $35.2 billion.

15 Simple Ways Women can Invest in Airbnb Properties NOW with Francesca Baglio

15 Simple Ways Women can Invest in Airbnb Properties NOW with Francesca Baglio

Francesca Baglio is a real estate agent, investor, mom, and educator. She lives in New York City and is passionate about teaching women how to take charge of their financial future through the power of leveraging real estate.

Today, we’re talking about how women can get started investing in short-term rentals… AKA Airbnb’s.

In this episode, Francesca breaks down the biggest myth about investing in real estate, shares how she started investing in real estate, and breaks down the biggest challenges women face in real estate investing.

She also goes into detail with these 15 simple ways women can invest in Airbnb properties:

    1. Look for markets an hour or two outside your home market if you live in a place where the cost of living is high.
    2. Buy lightly used furniture on Facebook Marketplace or visit an antique store.
    3. Invest with partners, like family, friends, and people who have strengths you don’t have.
    4. Do some of the renovations yourself, like painting walls or cabinets.
    5. Research the market you’re going to buy in and focus on places like lake communities, areas with lots of restaurants, etc.
    6. Bust out the spreadsheets and look at the calendars on Airbnb and vrbo to analyze markets and make projections, like:
      1. Data online as a middle ground
      2. Look at your best-case scenario
      3. Look at you worst-case scenario
    7. Check out free resources and Facebook Groups about investing, like Female Short Term Rental forums, and The Short Term Show podcast.
    8. Hook up with an agent who specializes in investing and short-term rentals in your area.
    9. Get in the right money mindset to invest in real estate.
    10. Automate things like paying for utilities.
    11. Hire a property manager or co-host if you don’t want to worry about the day-to-day responsibilities.
    12. Make your short-term rental Instagramable as if it’s a brand.
    13. Don’t do a same-day turnover when you’re starting out.
    14. Turn to Airbnb for help.
    15. Visit Investhercollective.com and learn from the best!

No, you don’t need to spend loads of money to build your email list. In this podcast episode, Jessica Rodriguez shares the biggest myths around organic visibility (and how to leverage that to your advantage), how to choose an opt-in topic and type that aligns with your paid offers and attracts more of the right people, and what to have in place in order to create a memorable experience for those on your list because that will lead to higher connections and conversions.

In this episode, Jessica answers questions like:

    • How do you start building an email list… and is it too late to start?
    • Paid versus organic with list building: How do you know which route to go and when?
    • How do you build a list to get sales and not just subscribers?

As the CEO of Freedom Driven Success, Jessica Rodriguez is on a mission to help online businesses expand beyond a 1:1 client-reliant business model with scalable offers so they can reclaim the freedom they originally started their business to have.
