This week on A Novel Console, Chris and Karradyne talk about Karradyne's only celebrity interaction when she worked at Disney, Drake's condom scandal, and Nintendo suggestions. Karradyne then finds herself when she reviews Ophelia After All by Racquel Marie, and Chris saves his friends in Unsighted. They end the show with a less than stellar visit to Sickies Garage.

Ever wonder what inspired Symphonie fantastique by Hector Berlioz? This “program” symphony is fueled by Hector’s obsession with actress Harriet Smithson. It is a shocking ride of epic psychological dimensions. Take a minute to get the scoop!
Fun Fact
In the fall of 1827, at age 24, Hector Berlioz attended the opening night of Shakespeare’s Hamlet, performed in Paris by an English theatre company. On that night, Berlioz was fascinated by more than the work of the revered English poet: he was enchanted by Harriet Smithson, the young Irishwoman who played Ophelia. That enchantment soon turned to obsession as Berlioz haunted the stage door and inundated Smithson with love letters only to have his advances ignored.

Part 1 in our Pre Raphaelite Sisters series where we delve into the lives of the muses, lovers, wives and artists who navigated this male dominated artistic movement which was ruled by romantic chivalry. These women were often object of beauty fulfilling a certain male fantasy, but who were they really?
In this episode I look into the life of Lizzie Siddal, whose history is dominated by mythic stories, in the hope of revealing who she really was as a passionate artist, wife of Dante Gabriel Rossetti and a woman of her time.
